Then, another heavily preggo ewe used to get stuck laying on her side and need help getting back up. You'd think after the third time doing that she'd learn not to lay downhill anymore. lol

Ok, it'd be hell on us and the animals, but sometimes I wish we could rotate hot and cold months....Like January, June, February, July, March, August, April, September, etc etc. At least then by the time we got sick of cold or hot, it'd switch.

My MIL got a Nook color and it's basically like having a computer, you can get online and check email and download pics and everything. She is also legally blind in one eye so she really likes being able to increase the font size so the other good eye doesn't have to compensate so much.

I don't care how crazy they are, I still want goats! :love

I LOVE MY KINDLE. My son bought me a Kindle for my birthday to cheer me up last fall and it worked!

I adore the thing! free books, free first chapters of new books, easy to use and I LOVE that I can change the font size to suit my old-lady eyes.....no glasses! My Kindle already holds over 100 books (the only ones I've bought were the Jean Auel books and a book on soapmaking).
The Jean Auel series alone would fill a small bookshelf. And Clan of the Cave Bear only cost me like 1.89 or something like that (first books of series go cheap every now and then if you watch).

It will not replace the public library, but it is smaller than a paperback, even in its case, so it is easy to put in a pocket or in your purse to go somewhere. It is like having Amazon.com bookstore in your pocket. My family went together and bought one for my mom, too.

Do I sound like a commercial? I realize that they are not exactly self-sufficient, but I read self sufficiency books on it at least...................

They are developing lending of e-books as well. I was afraid that I would not like reading on it.

The opposite is true....I do not like reading OFF of it. I wish I could read everything on it.

You can go online with a Kindle but it is really slow and you can't change the font size there, so it becomes too small for me. It has you go online really so that you can purchase books, not surf the net like the Ipad. It is a reading device, not a mini computer.
