Last summer I made my own limoncello. Suddenly I'm feeling like branching out. Must be the weather and the influence of friends??
I've never had limoncello, but it always sounds so cool and refreshing on a hot day!

Hot day? What is a hot day? Seems like summer was a lifetime ago.

Doesn't it? Kahlua sounds so much more appropriate for 2 feet of snow. ;)

I want to start making my own wine. Do we have a thread for it yet? I don't have a hydrometer yet. Do I need to order one fast, or can I wing it?

There is a wine and mead thread and you can do it without a hygrometer, but it IS handy.

Yeah, I forget to measure all the time and I can't seem to spoil anything. The only "problems" will be the future amount of alcohol. You can fix that by having two glasses instead of one! :D

its a HAM-TASTIC DAY!

we had to go into town to get a few things for Debbie the not-dead-now goat... so we just drove right on down to the butcher to get our hams! whooooot! oh the hammy goodness

79 pounds to be exact.

of course the butcher remembered me - he came right out and said hello. we got one of the 4 hams cut into steaks (about 2 pounds a piece!) and the rest are whole. i'll work on getting them parted up tomorrow but for now we are in ham-awe.

so are the dogs. their little dog-heads nearly blew apart when they saw those huge hams being loaded into the house.

and the butcher gave us a buncha free bones for the dogs! so now they really are an excited wiggly, wagging ball of fun. even Nicholas (our 17 lbs Maine coon x coon cat) went wild for the bones. he tried to drag one off. i think he was channeling his inner puma. i'm cooking the bones up on the stove to make them all broth. they'll get the bones to yum on later on.

so everyone is happy and no one is dead.

but its STILL SNOWING.

and i think i got ebola, botulism, rabies, scurvy, dysentery, and dengue fever. we didnt plan very well when we left the house and ended up having to get drive thru for lunch. blech. i'm sure Debbie will have the last laugh and chase ME around with molasses, Vit B1 and a thermometer... yikes!

thats the word here. happy thursday everyone!
:)

Glad to hear your Debbie is not dead yet ;) My Blossom isn't either  Guess we did ok with that vitamin B. for now. I'm sure they'll come up with some other alarming emergency soon enough!

Happy Hamday!
