Heh, OFG, you can get the first three chapters of Jean Auel's new book already here:
http://www.jeanauel.com/?ref=banner_crn_Facebook_LOPC_0111

I've only read the first one on my Kindle.......
Happy Friday!
did you just happen to find that on Auel's website? i don't check her site very often, but i thought i had everything covered in the whole "alert me to important things" kind of way... guess not. i've had my copy pre-ordered for about 4 months.

i started reading the series when i was 14 years old (a bit too young probably) so this final book will represent a 14 year commitment to the series on my part. i can't imagine how the poor people who started it when it first came out in 1980 must feel. i mean, 30 years is a long time to wait to hear the end of a story.

Biblio, I found that link because on Facebook I have those books down as a "like" and ya know how they scan that stuff and see what to advertise? They knew to market that to me and they were RIGHT.

I plan on buying VERY little in 2011 but that book is going to be on the list.

I DID start the series in the 80s, although I read Valley of the Horses first when it was a new book and then went back for Clan of the Cave Bear. I've read the series probably four times total, this will be time number five. I skipped the Mammoth Hunters two of those times though....so irritating when she spent so much time with them "not understanding" each other. However it is the one where she tames Wolf so I enjoyed reading it this time.

Now that I know more about dogs, I find her being able to train that dog like that a little impossible, but a modern day DOG could learn it.....like Dog number 1.

:frow Saw that you mentioned a trip to Wasserstrom Supply in another thread - let me know what you find and if it's worth the trip. I don't have any stainless steel milking stuff yet and the time is drawing near.

hey java!

I LOVE them! and there is used equipment place in addition to several stores. we found one downtown and it was basically across the street from another restaurant supply place. we found some great stuff.

the best thing is that you can get basic kitchen tools (like thongs, ladles, and stuff) totally on the cheap. and i got a big pile of heavy duty cooking sheets (perfect for chilling just dressed poultry). i'll be on the hunt for industrial quality (???) cheese cloth also. i cant wait to go! whooot!

so

yesterday..... brace yourself....... i sat on the couch.

its true. i sat there for HOURS and not just 10 minutes. no one could believe it and my hubby came over and looked at me and asked if i was ok. i'm usually not the sitting around type and i actually had to schedule it.

and we had pork chops in sauerkraut for supper! FD, was it you that suggested it!?!? it was great!

so thats the word and you guessed it... i'm gonna be late for church if i dont get my act together.

happy sunday!
:)
