They buried my power lines this fall, but only the one in my yard. It is still fed by an auxiliary line off of the main pole and both are still above ground. I am still kicking myself that I did not have them bury my phone line at the same time.

A few years back we had a big ice and WE were without power for 10 days, due to the fact that our lines only feed three homes and we were far down the list. We survived that in fine style however with the fireplace and lots of oil lamps.

This year I am starting to run really low on the firewood front. Figures that I will need it longer this year.

Luckily we were at the cold end and got a couple inches of snow. Spent the morning doing snow removal in preparation for the 1-2" of ice that they are predicting in our area. Hopefully that won't hurt our power but we are prepared. Cleveland got about 6" of snow last night. Glad I was south of them. The other good thing was that it wasn't windy so snow removal was easy today.

Sending warm thoughts you way. We're supposed to get big, make that BIG winds this evening and overnight. Weatherman said if tomorrow's garbage pick-up day, don't take it out until morning.

I haven't seen any wild birds around here either. Spooooky! Ugh, I had to spread some salt on the walk out to the coop. It was slicker than snot and I don't need another back problem.
Even the cats can't get a good footing out there

It made a nice picture though. Those icicles were six feet long (this was two years ago).
