hey! so i have brain rot SO BAD i'm not even sure i can form sentences! seriously!

Ok QA - how funny that you went back and read my intro - hee hee hee yes i love Vin so much that i told The Big Man if Vin shows up in a limo and asks me to come away with him that i'd pack my bags!

here's how bad it is... today IN CHURCH the pastor said some thing about three mistakes... which of course totally derailed me into:

"You made three mistakes. First, you took the job. Second, you came light. A four man crew for me? #()#*$) insulting. But the worst mistake you made...
...empty gun rack. "

and THEN for the next 45 mins i ran thru the entire dialogue of the movie! so when they took the collection all i could think of was:

"I shoulda taken the money"

all you fans out there know exactly what i'm talkin' about but the rest will just have to watch ALL his movies to see.. hee hee hee

javamamma - thats what i'm talking about.. as soon as i get over Chronicles of Riddick i'll be into my Raising Arizona phase i'm sure... hee hee

and yep doctors. harumph. once i interviewed with a company for an office job but they said i had to do a physical b/c it was an industrial site. fine they can take my blood pressure ok. however - i nearly got into a brawl with their dr b/c he wanted me to strip and he wanted to do WHAT!?!? only if you want to pull back a stump, Skippy. i didnt get the job. was not surprised tho....fisticuffs with Nurse Battleaxe are never a good interview technique
;-)

Dr's offices are bad - but dont even get me started on the pen at the pharmacy!!!!! i always take my own and never touch anything... including the keypad for my debit card.

back to Quail

i cant believe you Dude'd me!! yay!! thank you thank you thank you!!! i just love that - normally when i slip into my left coast slang i get funny looks
:)

we'd better not get snow! but i know its coming - its STILL raining and total mud soup out there. so more brain rot is on the way

and yes - we are not the youngest people.. but we go to a little old country church with a bunch of old timers. i love it. The Big Man's family has been active in it for over 100 years!!! how fun is that!?!?

ok more brain rot...
:)

hey Free!

I tend to say "dude" and "ya'll" interchangeably. "Ya'll" 's a southern thang ya know... :gig

but yeah, I kind of say dude a lot...It's an '80's thing for me...while it's a west coast thing HAHAHA

So dude.

and word.

It's still raining poodles here, too....But Homer and Marge (that's what we're naming the Geese!) are loving it!

So's Dash jr. and all the rest of my ducks.

ETA: E and I will be watching American Pie tonight...Followed by American Pie II and American Wedding...just waitin' on the kidders to get to bed!

I understood where your sarcasm was aimed, Free :D Other than this latest push, I have really liked this pediatric doc. But you are right - there are other practices in town. Not that I really even need a primary care Dr. what with all the walk in clinics and urgent care places around here. See, I'm not one who runs to a doctor every time my kids get the sniffles. My sister is. Oh golly the money they take from her. Anyway, I think doctors should be reserved for more serious things and emergencies.

Well winter is back. No one is happy. At all. The White Death has been blowing around out there - not sticking, yet. Dang. I was hoping it was just about over.

sigh.

but at least there is this:

Rooster Brawl 2010

Well, today we had a barnyard drama. There was a no holds barred, cage match between our old rooster, Fred, and the newer rooster, Big Pansy. It was downright ugly.

Fred was one of our original five chickens and has ruled the the barnyard from Day One. He's a big-plumed Welsumer with a bad attitude and huge spurs. Fred and I have never gotten along. There is open hostility and from time to time I set the dogs on him. He once mauled one of my sister's kids. And I'm fairly certain that someone (ahem) pawned him off on us because he was so mean and because we don't have kids..

Originally Big Pansy was supposed to be named, Mean Joe Green he's a huge brahma.. I mean he is HUGE so we figured... you know, that would be a good name. And frankly I was looking forward to someone to take on Fred.

But.

The within 5 minutes of being turned loose in our barnyard our littlest hen... a BANTY.. chased him. And he ran. So, well.. he became Big Pansy. And for all you Soprano fans, yes, thats the G-rated name for the character who got whacked in the first season...if you take my meaning.

So, Big Pansy and Fred got into it - bad. Really bad. They had been challenging each other for the last couple days and I had to send in my enforcers (the dogs) to break it up a few times... but wow. I found them both in a heap in the corner of the hen house this evening when we went to feed everyone.

I yelled for The Big Man to come running and bring gloves. Its never a good sign when someone yells for you to 'bring gloves' in a barnyard.

Back to the scene of the crime....

BP was covered in blood - not his own - but he slowly got up from the sickening chicken heap and stumbled off. .... and Fred was still in a heap....and he was in a heap.. come on, Fred... get up.... drat. He didn't. So The Big Man gingerly picked him up. He came around, alive, but he was covered in his own blood. Totally beat to heck. It took about 15 minutes to wash him off. When we got him cleaned up we saw he has bad lacerations on comb and face and there was blood caked around eyes and in mouth. Ugh.

So, Fred is in intensive care (OK a cage in the garage) with lots of straw, high protein food, vitamins and molasses laced water.. If he make it thru tonite we think he'll live.

I don't especially love Fred he's been my arch nemesis from day one.... but thats no way to go.

Poor Fred. Here's hoping for you, big guy.

Poor Fred! Poor poor Fred!

My Welsummer Roo, Kellogg, got into a scrap with Lance, Royal Palm tom...and Lance ripped Kellogg's comb. I whipped (literally) Lance into submission.

I love my Welsummers, especially Kellogg. That Lance is low on the totem pole in my mind...and he is in danger of leaving...forever.

Winter is coming back here, too. :hit

Oh and btw. I took a look at your blog. i tried to become a follower, but I really don't know what that means, what it does, or really (obviously) how to do it. I don't show up on yourlist of followers. Can you shed some light on this subject?

Your stories are a hoot, and I love how you see the humour in so many of your situationsand the insight. i mean, I have experienced so many of the same things here on my little farm, but it sounds so much more interesting coming from your perspective.
