:clap I've never had that problem with a vet - course my Mom has worked at our vet's office for years. I did however have an issue with my oldest ds's doctor when he was just a toddler. We went through 3 rounds of antibiotics and when I took ds back to the doctor I looked at him and said . . . . you obviously don't know what is wrong - refer him to a specialist . . . . turns out it wasn't an infection at all :barnie his tounsils were swollen (could have had them taken out, but didn't and he is fine).

Bee - common sense takes care of alot of things, but I find that it is in such short supply in this day and age!

Glad to hear that the pooch is doing well and got an appropriate diagnosis.

I am not a fan of Drs or vets....too much interpretation and band aid solutions!

yep - common sense IS in short supply. i'm always amazed when people tell me about a bad medical experience and i ask - so why do you use that Dr/Vet or whatever and they really dont know.

but the good news is that mr dog is on the mend

meanwhile - we are fixin to build an ark! wow its raining like nobody's business out there - totally a big ol' sloppy mud fest out there.

one fun thing tho - we took some of the old timers at our little church some sausage and ham slices... and got rave reviews! so we were glad. many of the older folks grew up farming but now have gotten away from it. they love to hear about our place and everything we're working on.. and so much knowledge! i love hearing about how they did it.

but for now.. rain rain rain... the geese are VERY happy. i told OD i loved him again - he screamed at me. i know it means he loves me too....

i'm full of sloth today - i found some new shows to watch online and have serious brain rot from all the tv. whoot!

it's coming a flood here, too.

But, I'm happy it's rain! Tuesday we're supposed to get s n o w.

:hide

And we have to go to Youngstown on Tuesday for E's pain management (epidural shots in his back...sweet revenge! hahahah)...oh sorry...I'm supposed to be compassionate...... :hide

My ducks are as happy as larks out there....or as ducks in a puddle...wait, they are ducks in a puddle...

cool on the older folks at church...so you's not one of the older folks at church I take it?

*ducks and waddles....er I mean...runs*

I guess I gotta admit, I don't really read through people's "big lists" in the beginnings of their journals...i kind of skimp through them....and I dunno why I went back to look at yours, but I was chuckling my way through, and then I get to number 39.......

39. Favorite movies? Raising Arizona, anything with Vin Diesel except that duck one...
I'm assuming you're talking about The Pacifier and my initial reaction is:

WHAT?!

It's where my Gary the Duck got his name! DUDE! what's wrong with you?!

other than that, isn't Vin Diesel just to drool for??? and that would be where my BLRW Roo, Diesel, got his name.

1. I do not care for Vin, but I love Raising Arizona.
2. Ducks are cool
3. I hate this rain
4. Don't get me started on vets or human docs either. We are trying a new vet this week. I only want Lila to get a rabies shot so we can license her. We'll see how that goes.
I had to take my 3yo daughter for a stupid "well child visit" last week because they were giving veiled threats about dropping us as clients if we don't come in for it. I am of the opinion that I should not need to take my kids in for them to tell me that they are perfectly healthy. Gets my dander up. So anyway, I did, we picked up a nasty virus (I know it came from the office because that was the only place we had been in over a week) and I am just now getting over it. Precisely one of the many reasons I do not visit a doctor unless absolutely necessary. There's GERMS there! Bad ones! It's where SICK, snot running everywhere kids are brought. Sigh. I got notice that my other 2 need to be seen soon OR ELSE! :barnie
Whoops, I went and got started. Sorry for spewing all over your journal.

Turn it back on them. Tell the doc that YOU'RE the mom, last time you checked he had no part in conception or delivery of your child, and when YOU THE MOM decide they need to see the doc, you'll schedule an appointment.

AND, either they get off your back about it, or YOU'LL drop THEM.

Worked for me anyway.

We don't do well visits. Just a way for the docs to line their pockets. and bill your insurance.

Sheesh, java, are they the only docs in town? Would they really turn you away when your kids get sick if you don't cover their overhead because you have a healthy family? I doubt it. I saw my primary care once in the past 17 years for a check-up for something I wanted to do that required it. Never got a snotty notice telling me to come in to pick up my allotment of viruses and bacteria! Wowza! How mercenary is that? :smack

Just to be sure you know it....my sarcasm is all directed at that practice, not at you! :frow
