Ohio - I just got a mental picture of Nichloas with a little horned Viking helmet on and a pelt on his shoulders from some kill he made. Maybe carrying a limp rat in his teeth to brag about his latest achievement.

Free- Plummy is gorgeous!

:gig On purpose????
Yep. I don't think they knew what it was called. First they were saying a cut goat, then they said goat steer!

I have actually heard one person refer to their goat as a "gelding", but that was an average person. You would think an auctioneer should know the proper terms.

well.

there has been a lot of action and adventure here.

all you ohio folks ok??

the storm got to us about 3am with a tornado warning. all of the damage was north of us but we were ready. luckily we were spared. i havent seen the damage reports yet but they said last nite Heath had wind gusts to 102mph.

all day yesterday we had water in the basement and rain rain rain and more rain. water was sheeting across our driveway most of the day...and directly into our house.

so i did the only thing a good Appalachian- American would do. i fired up the truck in 4WD and dug in with the tires to make a trench to re-route the water. can i get a yeeeeehaw!! it totally worked. i dont need no stinkin' trencher!

anyway

at one point they said that hail was on the way so i rushed outside and got the turkeys in and got the goat house door closed. i noticed that our old lady momma goose Penny was by herself and the other geese had left her behind. she's kind of been turned around lately and i was afraid she wouldnt have made it to shelter... so i did a flying tackle, scooped her up, and ran like mad just as the hail started pelting us. the dog thought it was the best thing ever.

so its been an ordeal here.

DL - i was thinking about you last nite/early morning at about 3:45am. just as the weather had all passed i went to shut down my 'puter

AND NICHOLAS HAD CAUGHT A MOUSE IN THE KITCHEN!!!

so immediately i envisioned him with a little viking hat, singing songs of valor around a campfire, and pillaging without impute.

and then i started screaming like a little girl.

the big man rescued me and Nicholas got extra canned food as a treat. he's registered a complaint with management tho and wants his mouse back.

happy wednesday everyone! its already been a hell of a day!

I thought about you this morning OFG and wondered if you were ok. We got a phone call from the township emergency alert system we signed up for at about 2:30am. So I was up for most of the rest of the night. The wind was crazy, there are lots of trees on our neighbors property and just listening to it blow through the trees was scary.

I saw the damage to the Wal-Mart in Heath on the news, it blew most of the sign off of the front of the building.

Got up this morning and chicken coops were fine and so were the rabbits so it looks like our construction skills are pretty good. Sorry to hear about the water in your basement, I hope you get the drainage fixed.

Oh and yeeeeeehaaaaaw, great job with the truck! That is awesome :D
