Don't get me started about that fox. Stupid creep was after my chickens and guineas one night. It's quite a funny story - filled with me running after the fox with a flash light, lying in wait, a shot gun, a guinea looking at me as if I were the devil, Big G, a coyote call and, finally, the fox in the freezer. He's SUPPOSED to be skinned and drying out now, but Big G has other plans. Dunno what those plans are, but he says other plans.
um... so do you just move it aside when you need tater tots or something.
eeeuuuwweee! hee hee hee hee hee
so mostly hits yesterday and the sun is actually shining today! of course its the day i slept in so i'm burning daylight as we speak. yikes!
on the downside....
its getting harder and harder for Kai to sit still. yesterday she ran when the Good Neighbors' dog showed up on our fence line. and as she was running... she slipped in the mud. my heart stopped... but she was up. she seems fine......but she has a lot of wiggles and is starting to make a lot of decisions for herself. such as "oh i dont think i need to come when momma calls.. i'll just traipse thru the tall wet grass"
i think its gonna be a long day for her - and me - today.
but i'm so happy i got my pig money. today we need to run the electric inside the field fence and move their shelter and we are read for pork!
of course this sounded great.. until i realized that i'd have to do the evening feeding! alone! (well, with the dog). shoot. well, i have all summer to hate them so i might as we get started.
in other, related news... TSC has the big charger on sale for about $100 so little does TBM know, but there is a lot of fencing in his future. probably starting today.
When I worked at one of the veterinary clinics, the vet had a huge ol' freezer that she used for the euthanized animals....AND her family meat supply!!!!
My friend T and I were so grossed out by this. I mean, everything was sealed up but it still disgusted us (and I'm hard to disgust). They used to invite us to dinner all the time and we were afraid the meat would be from "the freezer".....so we were careful to accept only when we knew that dinner was fresh and not thawed.
my MIL froze one of her dead poodles for like six months one time. she wanted to bury it at the Old Farm and was living out of state one time. so she wanted to keep it until she could give it a proper burial.
just another reason why we dont eat at her house.
blech!
Abs, i was thinking the same thing! ha ha ha ha ha!
