growing up, my brothers and I coon hunted and trapped fox, muskrat, and coons, and we'd skin'em and roll'em up and put them in bags in our moms freezer that stayed in the garage. Until one day she grabbed the "wrong" bag and got FREAKED OUT!!! I thought she was gonna kill us, but what she didn't know was there were 15-20 more "wrong" bags in there and we were just waiting for fur prices to go up B4 we sold them. We made good money for 3 kids and I was the oldest at 14-15 (by the time she figured it out) I bought my 1st car w/ huntin' & trappin' money WHOOT!!!

Good morning everyone.

I'm trying to catch up, but there isn't enough time for that ;)

We put chickens that die on us in the freezer until garbage day. We don't want the garbage can to stink to high heaven and be a fly magnet. So we bag em up and freeze them. There have been a few times that we forgot on garbage day and said chicken would reside in the freezer for more than a week.

My mom does that. Meat bits get frozen so they don't go to the trash until trash day :)

Us too - and rabbits that die too. Of course, it's the freezer down in Gary's shop and I don't keep food down there. It serves as a good freezer bus stop for those going into the garbage.

I have something that dies, it doesn't go in the trash. I put it someplace the buzzards will be sure to find it. :hide

DH used to freeze dead song birds for the science teacher to dissect, but we've never had a fox in there....

I do the same thing. I also freeze the "gut sack" when processing birds. Much better to have a double (or triple) bagged sack of yuck in the freezer that to smell it rotting for several days. ;)
