I am sure that is not it. It has something to do with the casing for the bobbin. It is broke and won't stay in the correct position so it won't let the needle down.

An update on the Chicki-doo meeting....
My mom went to the meeting tonight, I didn't. I didn't go to last months meeting either because of the no baby rule.
And boy am I glad I didn't go! My mom said that it was nothing but a talk session for the lady that started the meeting up. At the last meeting she said that every person that hosts it in their home had to come up with something for them learn or do. Well the lady that had it tonight was supposed to have her FIL in to speak all about quail...incubating, hatching, the whole thing! For some reason he could not come (found this out just a couple of days ago so not an entire suprise...I would have made a real effort to go if he was going to be there.) So the lady in charge brought a friend and I guess they pretty much dominated the whole meeting and they did not even talk about chickens! The meeting is at my mom's house next month and she has not really had an ideas of what she could do....well now the lady in charge is going to make a stuffing recipe. She pretty much spoke up and said that was what she was going to do and it was hard for my mom to tell her no because she didn't have anything else planned. I guess she did ask my mom if I was going to be coming back to the meetings and my mom told her not until I was done nursing the baby....which is not going to be for a while unless she suddenly decides she doesn't want to anymore.

Made to Trade Day....so far it is looking like there is only going to be about 4 or 5 ladies. I am really hoping for more but everyone says they are so busy this time of year....getting ready for Christmas.

I think DH got my sewing machine going again. The tension is still not right though.

My two turkeys have been getting on top of the coop and calling for a man! Last night they were both gone when it was time to lock them in! Hussies!! Thankfully they were back in the pen when we woke up this morning. Tonight one of them went in without a problem and the other one would not get off the top of the coop!

I am really sorry to hear the Chicki-doo meetings aren't turning out as you had planned. They seemed to have such promise when you first mentioned them. It may be possible that if they can get through the first year (doubtful since they are so unorganized) they may possibly reach their potential.

Are they calling to the local wild turkeys? Or do you have neighbors with turkeys too?

I posted my Made To Trade Day info on this site: http://farmswapusa.niceboard.net/forum.htm
But, it looks like the site has not really got off the ground or much interest yet so I don't know if I will get anyone interested from that.

Here is the info if anyone on here is interested in coming:
MADE TO TRADE DAY

Saturday
November 14, 2009
At 10 AM
Hosted by: Pam

Curious about how things go on Trading Day?
Here's how it works:
Everyone brings things that are Homemade, Homegrown, or Home baked that they would like to share with others through organized giving. Everyone gives, and everyone receives. It's almost like everyone is having a birthday on the same day. It is a fantastic way to get special handmade items for a special loved one or to indulge yourself with home baked goodies! Here are some ideas of things to get your creative juices going:

Homegrown:
Eggs
Flowers
Plants
Produce
Mushrooms
Herbs
Honey

Home baked:
Cookies
Breads
Muffins
Cheesecakes
Candy
Jelly/ Jam
Toffee
Syrups
Chocolates

Homemade:
(Must all be handmade)
Soaps
Candles
Bath salts
Lotions
Extracts
Aprons
Jewelry
Doilies
Cloth heat packs

A Story of What to Expect:

When you arrive you will have your box of things to share, let's say you have:
2 bags of cookies
1 Apron
2 Bracelets
2 dozen eggs
2 Jars of jam
1. First you will write your name on your own page in our little book.
2. Next we will figure out how many points you have earned. Each point is equal to about .50 Do the math:
Cookies 3 points each bag = 6 points
1 Apron 10 points= 10 points
2 Bracelets 14 points= 28 points
2 dozen eggs 4 points= 8 points
2 jars of jam 6 points= 12 points

3. Now you write down in the book that you have 64 points to spend
4. Make sure your tag is clearly marked with the point value on the front and your name on the back and then put it on the table.
5. Once everyone has figured out points everyone gathers up all the things they want to take home. You check out with a bunch of stuff and it all adds up to points. You write the balance in the book and save your extra points for next month. The whole process should take no more than an hour and a half to two hours!

How to figure out points:
One Point is like .50, but no money is involved. You will be figuring out your own points, and the leader will over see your progress, mark on the item what you would be willing to give for it, not just what you want for it.

1. Goodies: Points are equal to bake-sale values.
2. Produce: Points Equal to farmer's Market values.
3. Crafts: Points Equal to Craft Fair values.
4. High Value items: If you think something is worth more than 50 points you can put the item on the table and if someone wants it you get the points, if no one wants it, take it home. This only applies to high value things. With everything else you get the points in advance. Keep in mind if someone else only brings 25 points worth of items they can only take your one item and then will not have enough points to get anything else.
5. Please try to bring between 5-10 items (or more if you wish), totaling between 25-?? points in value.

Comments:
If you would like to figure out your points before you come that would be great! But we can help you decide when you get here if need be.
Label your stuff well, tell ingredients, and make it charming!
COME ON TIME!
We are not buying or selling anything, we are bringing things that we want to give away to others, and we are taking home things that everyone else wants to give away. It's like a big Christmas gift exchange or a Swap-meet. No profits are made by anyone, because with the same measure that you give, you also receive and you will not increase your possessions, you just make a fair swap, we just have fun and make friends. You will be taking home your own items that are left and those points will be subtracted off of your points.

Neat Bible Verses about Giving and Receiving:

"Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare. Isaiah 55: 1-2

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38

"For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have. For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened; but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance also may supply your lackthat there may be equality. As it is written, "He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack." 2 Corinthians 8
