Prayers for you and yours :hugs

How wonderful that in his last few hours he focused on his life and his relationship with God. He must have known that it was his time.

Just checking in.

I am doing much better today. The last couple of weeks have been hard but I am definitely doing better.
My mom got a job, which is a HUGE blessing! It is a job as a sub for a regular crew of 19 janitors for all of the schools downtown. She likes to clean so I am sure she will enjoy it. She can work anywhere from no days a week to 5 days a week. 2 days one week and 3 the next would be the perfect amount of days for her to make ends meet and then have a little extra leftover. But she is hoping to eventually get full time so she can get benefits.

I seen on Careerbuilders today that there is an opening at the company that bought out DH's old company. It is in a different department than what he was in before but he said he would apply for it and see what happens but he does not have his hopes up. It would be closer to home and more money, but it would be a LOT more stress if he did get the job. He said he would submit his application and see from there. Several of the guys that still work there no him so who knows what will happen.
He loves his job he has now but the hour and a half drive each way and the pay, which is HALF what he used to make is really starting to catch up with us.

My oldest DS went hunting yesterday, with the bow, and said he hit what he thinks is an 8 point but was unable to find the deer. He said there was blood and this morning he went back out searching and found his bloody arrow....no deer.

Ok, if things get REALLY tough and food prices go anywhere near the projected prices I honestly have no idea what I am going to do with my kids! My 11 yo went to fix the baby some leftovers from dinner last night and then fix his own lunch. I told him to stay out of the leftover turkey because I wanted to use if for dinner tonight. Apparently I did not speak soon enough! He had HALF of the breast of a 20 pound turkey GONE! And I know when we put it away last night that that piece had not even been touched! That was before he even sat down to eat his lunch! :he If TSHTF I am going to have to put ALL of our food under lock and key and start rationing on day one or my kids will eat everything within a week if I can not go to the store and replenish! I swear no matter how much food I put up it just never feels like enough to feed my hungry crew!
I feel like if we had a milk cow that gave 3 gallons a day we would use every bit of it just on milk and butter! We already go through more than a gallon of milk a day and I do not even let them get glasses of milk to drink! Maybe if we had (what seemed like) an endless supply of milk they could fill up on a big glass of milk with eat meal and the food would go further. :hu
I have made up my mind that if any of those scenarios that Beck describes happens I am going to be rolling pennies and getting my milk cow ASAP before the 15 day total collapse happens!
