Thank you for all the Happy Anniversary wishes!

I am pretty much still on the couch....of course I just woke up from a two hour nap though!!:D I think the resting on the couch is what is really making the difference in keeping my blood pressure down. I have been drinking lots of water too. When I go out and about and do losts of walking around...like clear across the hospital parking lot while it is freezing outside really gets me out of breath and makes my blood pressure go up.

The candles...The last time we had a power failure...only out for a few hours but our neighbors were without for a WHOLE week from Hurricane Ike. I realized we had very few candles in the house and only one oil lamp. We let our neighbor burrow our oil lamp as soon as our power came back on. Now, when I go to rummage sales and it is $1 a bag I grab up all of the candles I see. Next time I am going to start grabbing candles out of crappy holiday decorations if I see them...and leave the crappy decoration....or would that be wrong??

The quail eggs...I think they got froze when they arrived. The person that sent them to me was from Florida and the day they arrived it was below 20F and they sat in the mail box for over 5 hours because I was not expecting them so soon. Plus our temp/humidity thing went out half way into it. When we got a new one put in a couple of hours later the new humidity said it was 20% higher than what the old one said...so we could have drowned them if they didn't freeze! My mom and brother did this batch for me...their first try. I am trying to talk my brother into hatching a batch of my BJGs for me but he is not biting. I think because he is disappointed that this batch did not work. I do not want to do a batch myself until after the baby is born because chances are they would be due to hatch the same time I am in the hospital delivering the baby. But, I would like to get them in soon because I would like to sell the pullets at a good price while everyone has chick fever.

My mom and brother are here so we are going to play games, make jewelry, and work on cutting out the squares of fabric for the baby's diaper bag. They are staying until after the ball drops.

Happy Anniversary.

Here's a song for the two of you.

Beatles When I'm 64 Lyrics:
When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now,
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine?

If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oooo
You'll be older too, (ah ah ah ah ah)
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.

I could be handy mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside

Sunday mornings go for a ride.

Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck, and Dave

Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view.
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, Wasting Away.

Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

Whoo!

hey darlin', glad to hear you and the baby are feeling well. I can't imagine having to go back and forth to the dr. so much. It has got to be crazy for you...

you all can have your candles, btw. Totally not my thing...funny, cause in college I constantly had candles but as I have gotten older I just can't get into them for some reason. I have a stash in case of a power outage but other than that I never use them anymore. If I ever had any that had too strong a scent it would mess up my sinuses...and forget about potpurri...that stuff makes my sinuses go berserk!

You triggered another song.

Your Mother Should Know
(Lennon/McCartney)

Let's all get up and dance to a song
That was a hit before your mother was born
Though she was born a long, long time ago
Your mother should know (Your mother should...)
Your mother should know (...know)
Sing it again
Let's all get up and dance to a song
That was a hit before your mother was born
Though she was born a long, long time ago
Your mother should know (Your mother should...)
Your mother should know (...know)

Lift up your hearts and sing me a song
That was a hit before your mother was born
Though she was born a long, long time ago
Your mother should know (Your mother should...)
Your mother should know (...aaaaah)
Your mother should know (Your mother should...)
Your mother should know (...aaaaah)

Sing it again
Da da da da...
Though she was born a long, long time ago
Your mother should know (Your mother should...)
Your mother should know (...know)
Your mother should know (Your mother should...)
Your mother should know (...know)
Your mother should know (Your mother should...)
Your mother should know (...know)

Update on the quail....none of them have hatched. By my calculations they should have hatched Tuesday. My mom opened up three more eggs today. One was scrambled with a black spot, one was black, one was a peep with a formed beak but dead. So, we are going to leave them in for just two more days since she found one that was developed (only dead). Just holding out hope that we will get something I guess. I have decided that if I do quail again I am going to get some eggs from a man in the next small town...about 5 miles away. He gave me 30 quail eggs for free a couple of years ago and I had a good hatch rate. So, if I do get eggs from him I am just going to keep some this time rather than letting them all go like last time.
I am setting my eggs from my BJG aside until Monday and then putting the eggs in myself and going to do a hatch. I was originally thinking I would wait until after I had the baby to but, I am just to impatient! Plus if I wait another month that will make the chickens much younger come spring...making it take even longer into the summer before they start laying and again I am just to impatient for that!
I told DH last week that I have decided to just get turkeys for this summer and wait on the goats and he was cool with that. Then I mentioned getting goats again...because I have had interest on BYC for my hatching BJG eggs and I would use that $$ to cover the cost of the goats and he freaked out. He just is not ready for goats yet! I will have to keep wearing him down!! :D :fl

We got 15 BJG eggs today!! That means all of my BJG laid today!! I think that is the first time!! Then the kids cracked three of the eggs when they put them in the bucket to bring them in. So, now I have 12 eggs to put int he 'bator on either Sunday or Monday! I am hoping to get two more dozen between now and then to put about three dozen in the 'bator.

Wow 15 eggs! We are lucky to get 4 a day. It's so cold here, but they still want out and about everyday.

You mentioned cutting squares for the baby bag. Are you quilting it? I'm looking for ideas for my nieces baby due in May.

And would you think of my one day that you're resting on the couch and feeling bored. I'd love an hour on the couch.LOL
Seriously, I know how hard it gets at times, but you take care of yourself and that little angel.
