Today I ordered a set of FuzziBunz Cloth Pads! I got them for FREE by using my Swagbucks earnings! This is my second set of the cloth pads. I really like them! I can hardly even tell that I am wearing a pad because the cloth is so comfortable. I also have the Diva Cup which I also got for free using my Swagbucks! So now I am set for my monthly. Now there is no reason for me to buy disposable pads which will save in my monthly budget! So a win win in my book! I feel like I am totally self sufficient for that part of my life now!

TMI Warning: I just take the cloth pads into the shower with me and use a bar of Ivory soap to wash them out. They come very clean. We have a towel warming rack right outside the tub so I hang them on that to dry.

Someone also posted on FB that they had Pears ready and we LOVE home canned Pears!! We did not get any last year so again I am super excited!!
I literally only have ONE day to get ALL of the corn and pears done! I have to work this weekend and then we are going on vacation!
Plus school work! Good thing I do my best work under pressure!

I love the Instead cups. That's what I used for years until menopause.

DH brought home the pears!!! :weee It was a 100# feed bag FULL!! Plus 3 grocery bags full!!
Now he is going after corn!! I have decided to can this corn. I have never canned corn before. We have our 26 creepy meats that have to go in the freezer in a like 7 weeks so we need all the room we have in the freezers for them. Plus I am a bit concerned that if we lose power and the freezers are out for any length of time we could lose everything that is in the freezer. Plus I have a bunch of canning jars that I have been collecting that I want to fill!!
I ended up with 6 quarts of beans from last nights pickings.
The Amish guy that is bringing our 8 bundles of slab wood came up this evening to see where we live exactly. The bundles will be delivered within the next 2 weeks.

2 of my Accuquilt Die cuts came in today! I wanted the diamond shape but I accidently got a 4 1/2" triangle so I when I get a little more money from my swagbucks I will order the diamond die cut. I also think I am going to get a smaller triangle too...the 4" so that it will be compatible with the squares and triangle that I got. If I get those 2 that will give us 5 die cuts and I think that is a nice collection for making just about any kind of quilt.

BeccaOh showed me some super cute baby quilts the other day, and it's really tempted me to try making one. I have a ton of already cut squares, some in a cute winnie the pooh print. I don't think I have enough material for borders and such, though.

I really should look into it.

I'll admit to cheating and only quilting by machine

Whew!! 62 quarts of pears DONE! 14 quarts and one pint of beans...being processed now! They are snapped and waiting on the pressure canner. 30# of tomatoes boiling down for spaghetti sauce! I would call that a productive day!!
We did not get any corn though! :( I am not sure when we would have time to get it done though! LOL! The lady said the corn was not as ready as she thought and said it would be ready on Sunday. I have to work Sunday (and Monday) so I am hoping the corn is still good when we get from vacation.

I REALLY NEED for school to start sometime AFTER canning season is OVER!! LOL! Doing both at the same time has me about wore out!

62 quarts of pears!!! :ep Goodness!! Good job. :thumbsup I'm going to school (two classes, started with three then and dropped one this semester), taking care of our small "farm" and raising two kids while DH is gone most days with his own school and work. It's tough....I know your pain!

It has been crazy insane busy around here! Between school, canning, and vacations I am pretty much worn out!
I went to Lehman's on Saturday (and several other shops down in that area.) I got a really nice french fry cutter and a cast iron waffle maker that was the special of the month. My mom and I stayed the night down by there and then went to the Yankee Peddler Festival on Sunday. The Festival is HUGE! I saw so many cool things I would love to have, unfortunately the budget just does not allow me to get them!
I stopped at a garage sale on the way to Lehman's and got 3 dozen quart jars for $3 a dz and 6 dozen pints for $2 a dozen! So that pretty much filled up the whole trunk of the car! We had to put our cooler on the back seat so that filled up half of the back seat of the car.
I got to meet Ryan Williamson from The Mouse Works . He makes fleece hats, skirts, and bib overalls. I want a fleece skirt for winter to wear around the house! His fleece hats were so nice and warm! I think working and sewing with fleece is going to be my new hobby for this winter! I love the feel and warmth of fleece!

I saw another really neat vendor...Spoon Rings. They took the end (handle) part of a silver fork or spoon and cut it to a length and then wrapped it around to form a ring. My mom bought a ring for $15. I just checked them out on Etsy and they are selling for around $60 for very similar rings that this guy was selling for $15! I just went and checked out my stash of silverware that someone gave me and I have several pieces that would make very nice rings! My oldest said he would try and make me one if I wanted him to! Hmmm....

UGH! More ideas swirling around in my head! Sigh.....

It is slowly starting to slow down around here. Canning season is pretty much wrapped up because it has been so WET and COLD!! We are starting to get into a better routine with school now.
We ended up not getting any corn this year because the week our friend's corn was ready we were on vacation.

I had to take my mom out to get a BIG fire pit thing today in Middlefield and we went by a scratch and dent store that I had stopped at once before and today I got:
20 boxes of Hamburger Helper .25 each
40 boxes of Rice A roni .10 each!! I spent $9 all together! My mom was sort of in a rush for time because she had to get back home to leave for work so I did not get a chance to really scour the store but I was able to grab those boxes and go!

We have an outdoor party to go to tomorrow and it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow! :( I am not one to complain about the weather but I am really wishing God would send some of this rain out west and send some of the heat here!

When my mom and I went to Lehman's and the Holmes County Flea market last weekend we picked up some HotSnapz. They are wicked cool and they get HOT! They are perfect for stocking stuffers for hunters as hand warmers! My mom got a pair of those handmade fleece fingerless gloves at the Yankee Peddler Festival and she puts the HotSnapz into that and it holds them on her hands and eases the pain from her carpel tunnel. They are reusable over and over again! I have snapped one and put it under my shirt on my shoulder when I had a kink in it the other day and it was really nice!
