Congratulations Pam! That is wonderful news on the tax refund! You'll probably feel wealthy with the extra money in your monthly budget. :D

Keljonma, I don't know that I feel wealthy yet because literally as soon as we get it it will be gone! But, I am already feeling a lot less stress!! I am not used to having a revolving credit card bill that we can not pay off and I have been wanting the heloc paid off for several years now! Having the heloc paid off will feel like we have taken a giant step closer to being debt free!! Now if we have any extra money it is going to go toward paying off our house morgage and stocking up on extra food. It feels like money has been tight for so long that we have not had anything really good to eat in the house in forever! DH is totally on board with my one year food plan...hoping that it will then stretch to two years with fresh meals thrown in. I still do not want to put the boys back into all of there activities because I would like to keep that little bit of financial freedom!

Does anyone know if you can plant the sunflower seeds from the big 50# bags and will they grow into nice large sunflowers or are they treated with something that keeps them from growing into new sunflowers?

I went to a indoor garage sale that had 30 vendors. I got a pink portable swing for $20! I got a huge garabe bag full of clothes for the baby for .50 to $2.00 each. I also got a brand new umbrella stroller for $2! Then I went to a huge second hand store and got 4 pairs of shorts and 6 shirts for my 13 yo. 4 shirts for myself and a complete sheet set with two pillow cases all for $35.
The sheet set has a vintage look...off white with little burgandy flowers. I plan on cutting them up to make some clothes fot the girls and myself.

I went to Home Depot this evening and bought 2 pear trees, 2 peach trees, 2 black raspberry bushes, seed packets for my garden, and some gladolias. I also got a 20 pound bag of sunflower seeds for the chickens.

Some exciting news: My 13 yo earned his Young Champions knife yesterday!!! He is the FIRST person in the USA to be presented with his knife!! Three other boys from our church also received their knife. This is through our church. He has to read several books and complete work sheets on them. He does this every week in Sunday School. My church makes a pretty big deal out of this award. Several of the men in our church have earned their swords. 4 have earned their Knight thing and our pastor has earned his shield.

I am VERY proud of him!!!
