I have got to vent!!
Ugh!! I want to kick my 13 yo butt!!!! Since we have the new cable internet my 13 yo has figured out that we have the capability of downloading and watching TV shows...like Chuck! Well he has been in watching Chuck on the computer instead of doing his school work!!! I wanted to flip out when I caught him! His has been doing this for several days now!!! Needless to say now he is grounded!! No tv...of course! But, I also grounded him from Royal Rangers and told him he was not going back to Rangers until he reaches gets a certain portion of his school work done. And he does not get to stay home from church he gets to go and sit with ME in my class!!!
I feel kind of bad for grounding him from Rangers but there really is nothing else that he does or that is important to him but school comes first!!

And in other news:
I don't 'deserve' a medal but I WANT one!! I finally got my Christmas tree down and all of my Christmas decorations put away!! Now for the Easter stuff!!

Oh Pam, I have to laugh, about the Christmas stuff. We just took down our house lights last week, and the ONLY reason we finally got them down, is because we had new gutters put up! HA! So glad you was able to get them down and put away. Now, gonna leave the Easter tree up till the 4th of july!?? LOL I bet I DO!
So sorry about the kiddo troubles. Dont feel bad for grounding him. Ya have to hit them in a way they will never forget..and WILL do what they are told! I think you handled it just fine!;)

I am a mean old mom too. I took away the x box for a month. He only plays it on the weekends but a month is a long time to an 8 yo. School first, good job standing your ground.

Does anyone know if you can plant the sunflower seeds from the big 50# bags and will they grow into nice large sunflowers or are they treated with something that keeps them from growing into new sunflowers?
Pam, I don't think the seeds are treated with anything. We usually get sunflowers under the wild bird feeder that has sunflower seeds in it. We buy 50# bags of black oil sunflower seeds for the chickens and put a bit of it out for the wild birds.

Popping in while I can! The NEW power supply that we got for my laptop is not working!!!!! :barnie And DS is doing overtime on the desktop to get his school work done so he can go back to Rangers so my computer time is VERY limited!! :hit
I have however started sewing again! Yay me!! I got the top done for a boutique outfit for baby girl. It sure is cute!! But it is near impossible to upload pictures on the desktop computer so you all will have to wait on them. Now I just need to get the pants made for her outfit before Saturday because I want to wear her handmade boutique outfit on her for the sewing and quilting convention that my mom and I are going to. It only seems fitting!!

Some exciting news: My mom won FIRST place again in the weight loss challenge!! Go mom! She has lost 67 pounds now!!

Other than that it is kind of quiet around here.

Oh, something else exciting that I forgot. I got my cloth diapers in the mail today!! I used my egg money and bought 10 cloth diapers! They are cute! They are still a little big in the legs so I am hoping I do not have any leaking accidents. We have decided that we are just going to use them at home until we see how they do. I will have to lay them all out and get a picture and post it to my blog once my computer is back up and running again!

:thumbsup Congratulations, again to your Mom! She is doing a super job!

Sewing is fun! Do you quilt too? I find it relaxing. But I prefer hand quilting to machine quilting.

DH brought home a pattern for scrubs. One of the women he works for bought the pattern and decided it was less expensive to buy the scrubs than sew them herself.

DH says to her "my wife sews - I'll see if she is interested in the pattern." The very next day the woman brought it to work. The pattern is sitting on the table in my dining room until this week-end (when I hope to get a chance to measure dh).

This is funny because I haven't sewn clothes since the kids were little and they are 35 and 27 now!! :gig

Have fun at the Quilting & Sewing Convention!

Oh wow, you and your mom both are doing great in the weight loss area. Sewing what's that. I think the next thing I sew is going to be a muzzle for my new dog. Let's there has not been this few things on my floor in years. The convention is this weekend? Yeah, how fun. Let us know if you see anything new and exciting.

Oh, there is always new and exciting stuff at a convention. My problem is I just can't buy it all and take it home!!
Nope, I don't quilt. I like attention and quiet frankly no one will notice a handmade quilt laying on my bed....but they will notice DDs and oooh and aaah over their outfits!! So that is why I sew! If no one notices then there really is no point...for me anyway! That is why every outfit gets more and more elaborate so I can get a bigger WOW facter!! LOL!!!

Right now I think I am most excited about going to the convention just to get out of the house for a WHOLE day (with only the baby!)

We get our big income tax return check tomorrow so as soon as I pay off some of the bills I am going to Aldi's and doing a MAJOR shopping trip...probably spending around $500 so we can get stocked up!
My DH has been WONDERFUL lately and has been completely on board with stocking up on food and with how I want to spend the $$ to get us prepared for anything that may come up in the future! This is very unusual because he is normally very argumentative with me on everything. He had no problem with me getting the fruit trees too! My mom has been listening to the late night radio talk shows (because she works midnights as a security guard) and she is now getting stocked up without me even saying anything to her! Yay mom!! I love to talk and go on and on so it is nice to have my mom as a sounding board. She has been very encouraging about the stocking up! My MIL is a whole 'other story!! She acts like nothing is going to happen!! So I can't talk to her about it at all. :(
