I'm sure my family would all just love it if I told them I'm not going to be here for Thanksgiving, I'm going to Tennessee!
Well if they'd love it then you can say it's their Christmas present to buy you the ticket

well this morning i sit here thinking about everything i have to be thankfull for this year...

jack jack and his silly antics
the cats and their major mousing skills
the dogs and their ability to make me smile when things look bleak.
for sending Dozer my way despite the bad timing lol
for 3 beautiful healthy little puppies who all have their eyes open today

for a house of my own with land that while needs lots of tlc and work, is MINE to start persuing my dream on...

for family whove supported me through the early stages of this crazy journey and continue to support me every day

for old frineds who despite their scarcity have gotten me though some trying times

and for new friends, who open thier arms, hearts and home so i dont have to spend my first turkey day as a grown up alone!

in other news.

today is major crazy day...
i found fleas on ruby and on the babies...this is NOT making for a happy me...
the babies are too young for any kind of actual flea protection, so ruby will get a bath in dawn first, then the babies will get baths in dawn, in order to do them ive got to get the warming box set up, heat pad towel and hair dryer all set up first, they chill easy at this age and while the house is quite comfortable for me...well...so ill bath one, dry off with a towel, repeat for both puffs (the hairless pup doesnt seem to be effected) then take the hair dryer on low and finnish drying them off that way...then Dozer will get a bath in dawn (because if theres 1 in the house you know EVERYONE has them except the dog with NO hair LOL!)

ive got to find out for certain if i can use the friponil (generic frontline) on a lactating female and an almost 8 week old puppy. i need to do something to keep the nasty blood suckers out of the house and off the babies.
i HATE fleas! *ick*

once everyones suitibly bathed and dried, im going to see if i can borrow the neighbors rake, rake up all the leaves in and around the fenced in part of the yard so the fleas have less places to hide then tomorrow ill head down to walmart or something and pick up a yard spray...dont get the hard freezes here as early as ya do in CT so the flea season is going to be longer...
though ill be honest and admit ive been battling the occasional flea on ruby since before we moved...

there all also going to get started on a garlic and brewers yeast regime too.

and as i get the garden planted, theres going to be ALOT of lemn thyme, lemon balm, lavender and penny royal going into the mixed flower beds.
did i mention i HATE fleas?!

assuming i can get everyone bathed, dried and sich i also need to put a 3rd coat of paint on the doors in the livingroom and the fishtank stand, and some touchups with the green.
tomorrow i plan to get a start on trying to pry one of the old sheds apart for salvagable wood, i may need a pry/crowbar though...

next week ill go out and get my christmas shopping done...im a major "pass on black friday" kinda gal lol.

enjoying WBF's leftover turkey and the cornbred dressing i ran away with last night...lol. (i took at least 1/2 of what was left of the cornbread dressing :D)
YUMMMMMY

managed to get all the dogs bathed, and jasper ruby and dozer frontlined (i asked the vet if i could put frontline on dozer given hes a week too young and she said to go ahead since hes over 5lbs) (hes 6.4lbs) so yeah, hanged the bedding in the puppy box so theres not chance of re-contamination
also frontlined the cats, so fingers crossed that were not going to have a repeat...
to have to give a 2 week old puppy a bath because of fleas kills me on the inside :( but they did ok, handled it well, and the combination of the heat pad and the hair dryer on low did a perfect job of drying/keeping them warm.

i also managed to get the 3rd coat of paint on the front door, and the bedroom door, and the fishtank stand :) i also put 1 coat on the trim in the hallway and the outer side of the bathroom door.
those will get a 2nd/3rd coat once i get round to doing the kitchen.

now im just going to sit for a little while, let lunch go down, take a breath...its 3pm so im probably not going to get much if anything done outside today but thats ok cause i can get a start on that tomorrow.
