Super Self-Sufficient
well my birthday was a quiet one...
but i think thats for the best.
it was a rough day, spent it cleaning...
then i whent outside used some left over blocks i found by the shed to make a makeshift fire ring, raked the leaves in and watched them burn...and things just kinda clicked...
this birthday may have been a little quiet and lonely...
but there i was enjoying the sun on my face, the sound of the birds singing and a roo crowing in the distance and i suddenly felt like everything was exaclty how it was supposed to be.
its hard to be alone...
but im surrounded by everything i ever thought i wanted.
and my brain filled with so many ideas.
ive given myself 5 years...5 years to truly settle in, 5 years to get things truly started, 5 years to get this place moving...
if after 5 years thigns arnt working, then i can rethink...nothings set in stone...
but right now...here, in this place...sat by that fire...
it just felt right!
for my brithday i got a shark navigator lift away professional, its been sat taunting me since thurs of last week but iwanst allowed to open it untill today. today i opend it, used it, its a great vacume but scary how much dust and dirt it did pull out of the place considering ive been running my little sweeper every other day...things definatly felt just a little bit cleaner than usual today.
i also got The chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn treader on DVD (im obsessed with C.O.N, people think its nutz because of the "religious undertones" and me being pagan...but honestly, i love the story and always have, and i can eailsy choose not to read any further into the religious undertones...
and my sister sent me a $25 gift card, which im going to let her help me decide what im going to spend it on...
right now its a toss up between the paint for my bedroom, some clothes from goodwill, more fish for my tank, or splitting it between fish and clothes lol.
tomorrow ive also got to take the tape measure to my car...theres a guy selling some small shipping crates (32x32x23) that i think would make PERFECT bases for some buck hutches...got to see how many i can fit in my car if any...its a bit of a drive so not worth it if i can only fit 1 or 2 in the car, but if i can get 3-5 in there then i have no problem driving up there.
if not ive got to see what lowes and home depots wood cutting policies are lol.
i have to put some serious thought into hauling the junk out of the 2 sheds so i can better asses the buildings and see if they might actually be salvagable for coops too. theres 2 sheds side by side, im hoping to salvage them both, use one for tools and feed storage (obviously feed would haveto be stores in metal cans with lids) and the other as a chicken coop. if they can be saved that is...
and emptying them out means im going to need to hire someone to haul the junk off too *ugh*
but im definatly at the point, after todays little moment by the fire that i need to give more than "thought" about all this stuff and actualy start putting things in motion.
rabbits, the first flock of chickens and goats are definatly first on the list.
