well my birthday was a quiet one...
but i think thats for the best.

it was a rough day, spent it cleaning...

then i whent outside used some left over blocks i found by the shed to make a makeshift fire ring, raked the leaves in and watched them burn...and things just kinda clicked...

this birthday may have been a little quiet and lonely...
but there i was enjoying the sun on my face, the sound of the birds singing and a roo crowing in the distance and i suddenly felt like everything was exaclty how it was supposed to be.
its hard to be alone...
but im surrounded by everything i ever thought i wanted.
and my brain filled with so many ideas.

ive given myself 5 years...5 years to truly settle in, 5 years to get things truly started, 5 years to get this place moving...
if after 5 years thigns arnt working, then i can rethink...nothings set in stone...
but right now...here, in this place...sat by that fire...
it just felt right!

for my brithday i got a shark navigator lift away professional, its been sat taunting me since thurs of last week but iwanst allowed to open it untill today. today i opend it, used it, its a great vacume but scary how much dust and dirt it did pull out of the place considering ive been running my little sweeper every other day...things definatly felt just a little bit cleaner than usual today.
i also got The chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn treader on DVD (im obsessed with C.O.N, people think its nutz because of the "religious undertones" and me being pagan...but honestly, i love the story and always have, and i can eailsy choose not to read any further into the religious undertones...
and my sister sent me a $25 gift card, which im going to let her help me decide what im going to spend it on...
right now its a toss up between the paint for my bedroom, some clothes from goodwill, more fish for my tank, or splitting it between fish and clothes lol.

tomorrow ive also got to take the tape measure to my car...theres a guy selling some small shipping crates (32x32x23) that i think would make PERFECT bases for some buck hutches...got to see how many i can fit in my car if any...its a bit of a drive so not worth it if i can only fit 1 or 2 in the car, but if i can get 3-5 in there then i have no problem driving up there.
if not ive got to see what lowes and home depots wood cutting policies are lol.

i have to put some serious thought into hauling the junk out of the 2 sheds so i can better asses the buildings and see if they might actually be salvagable for coops too. theres 2 sheds side by side, im hoping to salvage them both, use one for tools and feed storage (obviously feed would haveto be stores in metal cans with lids) and the other as a chicken coop. if they can be saved that is...

and emptying them out means im going to need to hire someone to haul the junk off too *ugh*
but im definatly at the point, after todays little moment by the fire that i need to give more than "thought" about all this stuff and actualy start putting things in motion.
rabbits, the first flock of chickens and goats are definatly first on the list.

lol, oh yeah plenty of noise, especially dozer who cant understand why hes not allowed to play with the little babies...but with his paw as big as thier tiny little heads and the fact hes just so clumsy and a little rough at this age its just not safe for them to play together and he doesnt get it.
i sit in the playpen and hold him and let them interact that way but thats all hes allowed
and ruby isnt too sure about that ineraction either lol. she gives him the evil eye...she trusts ME, but doesnt trust him lol.

in other news, im potentially picking up a couple more angelfish for my tank tomorrow, 2 1/2 dollar sized kois...
*excited*

Happy Birthday! :weee :ya

You share this day with my youngest son, so I was busy cooking and trying to make the day special for him. He got a great surprise when his Dad's job got rained out, and his Dad made the 4 hour drive home to spend the day with him! I got a special present too when, as we made homemade pizzas for dinner, my son told me our homemade ones were better than any we could buy :love

I'm sorry you spent the day alone, but you did get some great clarity out there by the fire pit! I can't wait to see the picture's you'll be posting as you continue to put your dreams in motion!

well today i met a ady in lexington...i foundher advertising angelfish on craigslist and eve been chatting bak and forth since before i set my tank up.
today i met up with her, the plan 2 angels...
she did me a deal saying shed give me to of her mid grade angels (the ones she usually sells off to a petstore in lexington because for whatever reaosn there not what shes looking for in her breeding ines...and she'd give them to me for $5 a peice...
perfect, thats what i paid for my dime sized babies and what id expect to pay for "pet store" quality fish...
well she shows up today with not only 2 koi anges as agreed upon but a blue ghost, one i wanted but decided budget says only 2 more $5 fish lol. who she was giving to me for free!

the koi angels are STUNNING, 1/2 dollar sized rather than the nicke sized wed origionally talked about, and beauifuly makred, and the blue ghose is the same size as my other 2 smal angles...
the blue ghost is going to be a beauty too...silver body a few black lines, and as he deveops he get this gorgeous turquoise blue sheen!
but now i have an odd number, so when i go out to get my next batch of tank additions im going to have to find another dime sized angel to finnish the group off.
eventually theill start to pair up and ill know what sexes i have and who needs to be rehomed and such...ill probably end up keeping 4 once they enter adulthood. :)

whent to the walmart in lexington...same ole wamart but they didnt have what i needed...
i also checked out a little store called fishy buiness and i wont be going back there again, dingy, the few small animals and birds were in tiny cages on the floor of the store, and the freshwater section seemed like just an afterthought...if i was doing saltwater, id aboslutly go back there, great slelection of small coral frags and live rock, and lovely salt fish...but the freshwater...not so much...
so i ended up HAVING to go into jackson anyway...

i stopped at petsmart to pick up background for the tank sinc ei cant find black consuction paper and petsmart where having a sale and i got a coupon...
while there i also picked up a trio of tequia sunrise guppies...not origionaly on the plan, but they were also on sale and the engels will eat any guppy fry they decide to try and fil my tank with...as guppies are so prone to do...i LOVE guppies, but thy reproduce faster than bunnies...angels however are cichlids and carnivorous so will do a perfectly fine job of nomming down all the guppy fry before they even mature.

there were also 2 lone cherry barbs sitting in a tank that they wernt supposed to be in...they practically gave them to me...so i came home with a few more fish than id planned.
im not allowed ot make another trip to the petstore for at least 2 weeks now...lol, at which point ill be looking for another dime sized angel, 4 more cherry barbs and 6 corydora. at which point the tank will be full untill i get algea growth at that time i MIGHT add 1/2 a dozen ottos, but i wont be adding those untill im certain its more algea than the other fish can handle (the angels, neons and chrries (and im told the briiants and guppies) will all graze on algea too.
the cherry barbs are having a blast playing in the bubbles lol

i stoped at the big walmart up there too, they had what i needed so that was good...
they also had some bread and meat on clearance (eat/freeze by today stuff so i picked up about $50 worth of meat, $10 worth of artisan bread (2 of chich are chcoolate loaves lol) and a back of brownies for $30 total.
i stopped at petco too while in that general vicinity to see what they had and quite frankly...eww..i used to work at petco while in highschool and have to say i eft because out local one kinda whent downhill and managment...well...
sad to say that aparetly its the same here too.
not to mention the attitude, they had a stunning pacu, this guy was no joke alost 24 inches long and they had him crammed into a 10 gallon tank, he couldnt even turn around...
and a little hans macaw labled as a red shouldered parrot...a hahns and a red shouldered are 2 completly different thign sboth visually and in terms of personality...
i asked if they realized the hahns was mislabeld and got a realy confused gone out look then told point bank, "i dont knwo what a hahns macaw is, but we have a red shouldered parrot..." *GRRRRR* no you dont, you have a hahns macaw labled as a red shouldered parrot, macaws are the ONLY species of bird with bare patch around their eyes...
i told managment he was mismarked and got asked "well what does it matter?" (unfortunatly while id like to say this is a local petco responce, its been my experience in many petcos...)
corporate will be getting an email from me this evening, especialy since they have the small animals by the entrance and as you walk in your hit with a WALL of amonia...something that shouldnt be happening at all but especially when the animals are in little glass tanks....if thats the smell customers can smell simply alking through the door...imgaine what it must smell like INSIDE those little glass boxes?! theres very little venitlation in those critter keeper setups they use its all from above and amonia is heavy, so i cant even begin to think of what the animals are smelling in them...ugh.

ill be only visiting petsmart in jackson and petscove in savannah from now on.

it ended up being a long day with alot of driving, but at least im all sorted for a while now, got plenty of meat, got plenty of bread, and my fishtank is almost complete :D

having tai peanut chicken and noodles for dinner...and a brownie for desert (gonna heat it up and serve with a little bit of skinny cow icecream lol.)

but yeah, think thats al i got for today.
im not allowed to spend any more money this month lol
saying that though, the angels were a bargain, the koi at that size would easily sell $20+ each at the petstore...the blue ghost at his size another $7 (the color is hard to come by) and i got all 3 for $10.
