Yes I have GOT to get over there! I should be around next Tuesday, stop on in. I will plan on helping you out the 9th too. Vacs don't sound bad, but chips sound hurty :p

lol, vacs are easy but often the pups put up more f a fuss about them (i think it must sting a little...)
dozer didnt even flinch at the chip but squeeked when i did his first round vacines.

dinner was delicious...
now im chilling with diet iced green tea and TV for a bit.

tomorrow is major clean up day again (this week whent nowhere)
then thursday its into jackon for supplies...will probably take Dozer with me. ill have to leave him in the car while i grap pee pads form walmart but at least itll force me to be in and out as i dont like leaving any dog alone in the car.

hey WBF do you know of any dog training classes in the selmer area? right now im looking at petco and petsmart...petsmart is winning right now but its a 45 min drive one way every week...so im wndering if there might be something closer. i want him to go through a group class or 2...but the milage is a little worrying...its a long way to go evey week for 6 weeks if theres something closer :)

I took my muttsy to one in Shiloh area, but it was $20 per class for obedience training with this lady. I dunno is the Petco and Petsmart training sessions free?

Ah, and this lady may not be any closer. She is just about 10 minutes from me toward Shiloh, but I am pretty far from you too. I did like her though, as she has the agility setup and does all kinds of training there in her yard. She raises standard poodles...I never liked poodles until I met hers, they were pretty cool, smart dogs :)

poodles get the short end of the stick realy...people think there "silly" and obviously becaose of the cuts that there air headed and dumb but poodles (especially standards) are amazing dogs, bred to do the same job as labs...
i think the over the top show versions of the traditional trims realy does the breed such a disservice.
its a breed i can imagine myself owning one day in the far distant future...but then at the same time, the grooming required is a little...ok ALOT lol.

i think ive got to see where my money stands for january and then decide whats the most important next step...getting dozer into a training class or getting some rabbit hutches built this month...if i can do both...even better lol.

From what I've heard, poodles were bred to hunt ducks. And, the hair cut was done to enable the dog to swim w/out getting weighed down from the water, but protect the vital body areas from too much heat loss.

thats exactly right, the chest kidneys and ankles being most likley to surcumb to cold shock, the tail poof acting like a little bouy so the hunter could keep track of the location of the dog int he water easier.
unfortunatly in the ring the cut is "over done" going for more volume than would ever be needed (or practical) and it makes hem look silly...i think they should be showin in their oritgional trims at the origional lenght rather than rying to use big hair to hid structural flaws and enhance the natural lines.
but then again i also belive dogs should be able to do wha tthey wer eorigionally bred for as part of the "showign and breeding" process...a "pretty poodle is just that...
but a prety poodle whos also trained to do water retreival...now thats a dog id put my stock in.

well ive got some hopefully GOOD news...
today i found a flea on ruby...and it was DEAD!
i gave her a quick go over and havent found anymore on her on the visual, need to comb her through. and i havent seen any on dozer so far today...
We might have finally got a one up in this war!

in toher good news...i got up at 8 am and my house has been fully cleaned LOL! 4 hours to clean my house top to bottom...not bad :D
i even managed to get the ac unit into the window...i need a strip of weather foam to go under it, but it was taking up space on my floor so its in for now and i can what i need to weather proof it when i go on thurs to pick up stuff.
I also put my wind spinner up that ive had sitting in a box since i got here because i didnt have anywhere to hang it on the deck...now it has its very own nail.
My windchime that mum gave me for christmas is also hung up out on the back deck too.
litter box and bird cages done...
dishes done
hand washed some of the puppy bedding

all i realy have left to do is a partial change on the tank and to move the little oil filled radiator into the utility room.
feels good to get thigns done...feels even better to have things done so quickly...lol.
