rabbit math is dangerous!

a frined in KY who i knwo through some dog shows is moving this weekend and has 3 mini rex babies that need to go before he moves. 2 tricolor does and a "grey" male hard to tell in the pic but hes probably a blue (does are related buck is not) there babies, reacently weaned...
i might end up going up there tomorrow to pick them up...they can live in a dog crate in the back bedroom untill i can build the next bank of hutches, which assuming the money for Dixie hits my bank account by friday will be this weekend...

im thinking ill keep the buck and one of the 2 does and rehome the 2nd doe...
my plan fo the mini rexes was eventually to get them with the purpose of breeding them to hollands in an attempt as a rex coated holland lop lol (how cute would they be)
these babes are aparently out of larger parents (4 1/2-5lbs) so would make small but ok meaties too (rex are high meat to bone so even the minis tend to be good meaties)

means money is going to be VERY tight untill friday/saturday (dixies money should clear and squeekers going home friday too so that money should be clear by monday)
of that some is going on the credit card, some is going to stay in te acct to pay end of month bills and some will go to building the next set of hutches...

rabbits are dang addictive!...

in other news, got some interest in little man too...PLEASE fingers crossed, ive had aot of quereis but no solid home, he NEEDS his home, he just wants to be snuggled all the time and i cant give it to him, cant give him as much love as he REALY needs right now...and once squeeker goes home on friday itl be even worse for him if hes still around.
once again though its a case of "im interested send me pics" then "ok just got to talk to my husband..."
How about folks ask their SO's BEFORE looking for a pet...

anywho...
i also need to make a walmart stop tomorrow for some heavy duty plasitc for the hutches, i had some...but the peice isnt big enough to do any good at all lol...
so yeah thats my life right now lol

Rabbit math is more like multiplication :p 1 doe times 1 buck equal 10 babies :p

well ive got someone comming over tomorrow afternoon to take a look at little man!
there coming from memphis so i dont think theyd make that drive unless theyre serious.
*fingers crossed*

so busy day tomorrow...
got to get up and take a drive, get go juice for the car, hit walmart to see if they have any of the heavy clear fabric, then picking up the 3 minis...then home, give little man a bath and make sure the puppy pen is nice and clean and the house smells a little less like a zoo...

so i think im going to go to bed.

thank...
i was going to blo off the mini rex last night, lay in bed thinking about it ect...then last night i dreamt about them...work up...felback to sleep whent straight back to dreaming about these rabbits *gah!* so i guess its meant to be...
i keep telling myself, yummmmy rabbit meat...but still lol.
gonna use my existing hutch design but turn it into a 3 hole on top for the minis/hollands. itll be 3 holes on top, then 2 holes underneath (instead of a duck run). the mini does will then have the larger hutches (2 per hutch) giving me 2 mini rex and 2 hollands (or 1 mini rex and 1 holland if i can sell this second mini girl, and 2 holland x rex mixes in hutch 2) and up top ill ba able to house mini rex buck, holland lop buck and a mini rex x holland buck.)
itll be my project bank.
then ill make 2 more regular hutches for the standard bucks, (wiht a run underneath for some silkies), which im in no real rush for as im still trying to find a couple nice ones...im realy hoping to get blues/opals...
if i cant find anything before march though ill go to the origional rex person though.

the standard does will then get moved into the doe pen and the weanlings will stay in the hutches untill butchering...
*takes breath*

Anyway, oatmeal made with fresh goats milk :D for breakfast, delicious, its so much creamier and filling.
everyones fed, puppy pen is scrubbed so im going to get dressed and head on out to get this trip squared away.

then when i get back dishes, a bath for little man, and a quick tidy round before his hopefully new people arrive.

so yeah off i go.

well what a LONG morning...
i thought i lived in the midle of nowhere...im city compared to this guy lol.
But i did pick up 3 beautiful baby bunnies whome im still going through my pre-picked list of watership down character names for.
pictures will come later...
2 little females born in late november (just 8 weeks), 1 a heavily marked tri the other a charlie tri (i think shell make some gorgeous babies when paird with the buck.
thier parents are both nice sizd minis, momma 4 1/2lbs and daddy just 4.
the buck is stunning, and going to be even prettier when he gets his adult coat...
i have to do some looking but im pretty certain hes an OPAL OTTER...momma was a tri, daddy a black otter, the other male on hand (on reserve) was a pretty little tort...
hes gorgeous, definatly looks like buebell in terms of bue overcoat with an orange undercoat but he has cream lacing on the ears and on his cheeks, so i think hes an opal otter

they are currently all chowing down in the back bedroom he was feeidng the same thing i fee and alfalfa hay...so food hasnt been changed up too much cept ive got an alfalfa timmothy and orchard grass mix.
i put in a clean litterbox filled with a good inch of shavings, a couple handfulls of hay and that takes up about 1/2 the crate, the food bowl and waterbottle are in the other half, plenty of room to hop around a bit but there loving having somehting to snuggle into,

got home, dishes done, little man got a bath, got the house semi clean, got the Babbits setteld in, and now just having some lunch.

people are due to look at little man in about 1/2 an hour, so in a few mins gonna restraighten their pen and give him a quick comb through now hes dry....
*fingers crossed*

later, going to figure out the weather guards (picked up some clear vinyl (it has butterflys on it lol) from walmart this morning so ive just got to decide the best way with what i have available.
and get pictures of the babbits for yall.
