i have actually thought about setting up as a "not for profit" in home rescue.
not sure where id start though...
My biggest concern would be getting in too many critters and getting stuck with them...rehoming from what im seeing can be tough.
id LOVE to get into exotic rescue too...
i think ill look into that...as long as i can get enough donations ot cover food (and vet care) id be happy to dedicate a little bit of space.
in good news, looks like Little Kitty might have someone comming to meet here tomorrow afternoon.
Now, about them bunnies.......anything yet? my big doe had been pulling hair the last few days. I need to go check on them here shortly and see what I can see
i hope so, theyve got a 9mth old kitty and a 5yr old kid...and this kitten is a love bug so i think shed love having a kid to snuggle with. she spent all night curled up by my head purring...im pretty certain she purred none stop through the night.
She NEEDS to go home this afternoon because shes absolutly too adorable to be hanging around here letting me get all attatched lol.
the crazy winter weather last night didnt do much, turned to rain at 9pm and its been rain/drizling since...least the roads arnt icey. havent heard anythign back from the people with the holland lops so im assuming they gave them to someone who could get down there sooner...oh well not meant to be. obviously.
Havent checked on my buns yet, its so soggy i have to get dressed and put my mud boots on, so i got everyone elses settled first and am just finnishing up my breakfast. the ltterboxes need doing anyway so i figure ill just take care of it all together.
hoping ive got a couple boxes full of baby buns, but i dunno...im having my doubts...but that may just be "first time jitters" lol.
I have two boxes of bunnies! The Rex girl Sable, and my sweet meatie girl Alice both had babies Still not sure how many. I think Alice will have more. When I checked she just had 2-3. She's usually good for at least 5.
well nothing yet on the bun front...but weve got all day before there officially "past due" lol.
no signs of nesting in Bluebells box, but Acorn is possibly trying, no fur pulled yet on either of them, but Acorn been doing a bit of hay re-arranging...
ive got a feeling there going to draw this out for as long as possible...ive known some buns go 38 days so i always give them a full week before considering it a no go...but still...hoping for valentines day babies...theres still time.
did manage to get ALL the hutches swept out and all the litterboxes bumped and cleaned...so now my current 4 raised beds have a nice thin bottom layer of shavings and rabbit poop/pee from the boxed, im going to dump peat and aged manure/compost ontop of that and then using my little claw to gve it a good ole turn, but that has to wait as i cant afford my "dirt" yet lol.
Gah...come on buns...
Will check on them again around 3pm, then again just before bed...ive got a feeling if there going to go today itll be after dark, but we'll see.
YAY cindi on your buns, cant wait to see what colors you got out of the rexes
I know I have one broken black and one possible castor out of these babies. Those are the two I could see really well. I hope yours come along soon! I need to go recheck mine, but I can't really take the twins out in the mud with me, so it'll have to wait. They have their new shoes on. I'll go look again when their mom comes to get them.
