16 healthy looking little ducklings arrived at my post office today!
of those 16, 6 black runners are staying put :p
of the rest, 4 khakis are heading to WBF this afternoon and the rest (fawn and white and chocolate runners and the other 2 khakis) wil be picked up tomorrow morning!

took them about 3 seconds to find food and water...not bad LOL.
there so cute and tiny right now but i know there gonna grow super fast.

As a side note, upon talking to my dad last night...hes not gettin ducks...*whew*
he asked me where i got my ducks from, so i told him...
next thing i know "OMG i can buy geese" yup...daddy whent to e-fowl and started pokin around...hes asked me to send him the information on how to set up the brooder for geese as hes going to be ordering a pair of embdens LMAO.
hes always wanted "a BIG white goose" but obviously you cant realy keep a lone goose (e-fowl also wont let you order just 1) so i told him they can be very mean during the breeding season and such...but seems hes decided hell be adding a pair to his back yard in the next few weeks or so...

hes VERY excited at the mental immage of our poor neighbor, who is like family (used to work with my dad) being chased across the yard by a big white goose!...i have to admit i find it kind of funny too as hes definatly one of those "know it all" kind of guys who tries to act all tough and "be the man" yet will run scraming form a bumble bee LOL.

so yeah, thatll be interesting.

Anyway, wanted to inform you all that my what little sanity i had left has been restored with the safe arrival of the duckies...by 7 am with no call i was getting antsy...7:30 "i have a box for you...and its squeeking" lol

now, off to go get everyone fed, tidy this place up and then get WBF her new babies over to her :)

Glad that you finally got them! :woot

They are too darn cute! I can't wait until we're ready to get some ducks. I wanted Cayuga's because I love their coloration but thanks to all that I've been reading here has me leaning toward Runners and Muscovies now (meat and eggs as opposed to pretty).

Hope you and Wbf have a great visit! :hugs

They're so cute! But, I won't have ducks as long as I live where I do. I could have them at the farm, but there's already enough ducks out there. They wander over the whole farm, and poop where ever. I had to clean up all around my tack shed one day because of the smell. :sick

had a good day, hung with cindi had delicious pizza, after getting home got some more stuff tidied up and now im making chicken and rice casserole :D

its supposed to rain tonight into tomorrow so im glad i got veggies/strawberries done yesterday, will try and work more on the goaty shelter tomorrow if the weather co-operates, if not thatll end up being this weekends job.
got some painting and inside/covered jobs for tomorrow. need to replace the little hooks on the side of the hosue that i use to hold the "gate" shut with some bigger eye bolts and clippies (the hooks arnt big enough to catch the wood under the siding so not secure and dozer is big enough now he could easily just push it right open.
i also have 2 hooks that need to go up in the kitchen, they will be used to hang my chair (i picked up a cheap folding chair) in the kitchen...itll be nice to have a usable table lol. ill have to get a couple more before mum and dad comes.

i want to paint on the underside of the seat so when its hung on the wall its not quite so much of an eye sore lol. so im thinking tomorrow might be a good day to paint that if the weather decide to be soggy.
i might try and put a base coat on the 3 little teracotta pots too if that ends up being the case.

other than that, not much going on...
i keep checking on the duckies every hour or so, i had to turn the light up because despite it being the right temp last night when i was playing with it, the babies were acting a lil chilled and huddled under it...now the thermometer is reading closer to 98, but there much happier, there still mostly under the light but not huddled together anymore.
i hope they continue to do well, they seem pretty active/healthy but i know they can go literally from good to gone in no time and that scares me...
the extras are supposed to go home mid morning tomorrow, got to email her tonight for a general "what time" to expect her...i think ill feel a little better when i dont have someone elses ducks in my care lol.

lets see what else?!
cant realy think of anythign else right now...so yeah gonna go check on dinner :D

What time tomorrow is a good time? I have to take the truck to the shop at 11. Would earlyish morning be okay? Hopefully it won't be raining and I can walk out back and see what all you have done :D Looking forward to it. Sadly, I won't have much time  but at least I'll get to visit for an hour or so maybe. Can't wait to see Jack again! I love that silly bird :)
