Kita's mom was named Little Lilly and she was a HUGE lapdog...I think that name invokes that personality in an animal  So, of course, I think it's perfect! ;),

lol, definatly seems to fit her, shes sweet, "quiet" (dont get me wrong she can give a good call when she needs to but she doesnt have a "maaaaa" like poppy, poopy hears me comming and lets me know shes heard me...
Lilly is more of a quiet little "meep" lol. shes pushy when it comes to the bottle, but otherwise shes just a mellow little gal... poppy is definatly the haigh strung one lol. and she "pops" when she gets nervous (like when im trying to herd her into the house) she kind of crouches and when i get close she just springs straight up and runs lol...kinda like bread in the toaster lol.
there so funny. gonna try and get some new pics of them today.

the babbits are doing well tood...1 of the 2 "solid" kits is huge, the other solid is definatly the runt, its fully formed and normal so definatly not a peanut, but about 1/2 the size of the other solid kit and smaller than most the others. 1 of the brokens is on the smaller end too.
itll be interesting to see how the colors play out on this litter...
given the gentics i was especting a littler of mostly Castors/broken castors...i also knew i could get black otter/broken otter...then depending on how genetcs in the past play out theres also the posibility for Opals/broken opals but opal is low chance.

now looking at the colors in this litter 1 of the babies and 2 of the brokens are VERY dark, im expecting them to turn out to be broken and self black otters
1 of the brokens and the big self are lighter, im ecpecting these 2 to be broekn/self castors...
and then theres 1 broken kit whos somewhere in between lol.

im so excited for their fur to start comming in so i can get a true feel for the colors

today is the first day of spring, so a blessed ostara to those of the persuasion, but ill be honest and say i think spring overslept so summer decided to step in...its forcasted to be in the UPPER 80's today with an active wind advisory all day. dont get me wrong...its beautiful...but well...hello sun!

i think given the temperatures for the day im going to take the duckies outside and put them in their little pen, they cant free range the back yard yet since ive no fence and runners are ust a tad nervous lol, but they can go in their pen which is bigger than their brooder (which needs cleaning out...again LOL) and get some fresh air. there 2 weeks old now so i figure if its warm like today, they might as well be NOT stinking up my guest bedroom lol.
they are gettign BIG. cant wait for them to start getting their big ducky feathers too :)

today ive got to spray down the furniture and dog beds...seen a couple of fleas the past few days and the dogs are due for their flea stuff so i figure ill spray everything down while im at it this morning.
then by the time i vacume tomorrow the spray shoudl have killed any live fleas around the house and theyll be sucked into the vacume and carried away whatever kind of afterlife fleas have.

Want to try and get the trellises built for my peas today too and going to plant some peas along the backs of the rabbit hutches, more to provide some extra insualtion and some free food for them than anythign else
but itll also be a case of balancing the high 80's and my time outside. this wind though is helping keep it very comfortable...which is kind of dangerous since i forget to stop and eat/drink so if i dont keep track of myself...

id like to get my little solar light monted over by the goat house so when i go out to do night time feedings ive got more than the flashlight shoved in my mouth lol. im also thinking of putting a little hook in the goat house from the ceiling so i can hang the flashlight up during feedings lol.
need to get the mineral feeder mounted today (my hook idea...not gonna work too much of a curve to the cup hooks)

so i think ive got plenty to keep me busy today lol. and if not...theres always the internet lol.

i feel like a "big girl" today...
ive been trying since i moved in to get that stupid showerhead off the arm, (including yelling at it...nope didnt work either)
well today i broke out the toolkit again, because dozer needs a bath and at 50lbs does NOT fit in the sink anymore...
instead of focusing on the showerhead itself i focued on the arm that somec out of the way...took a few mins but unlike the showerhead it did start to give and then once it was free fo the crud it twisted off no problem with no thread damage WOOT.
then once that wa soff i could work on the showerhead without fear of pulling the entire thing out of the wall.
some wiggles and some twisting and then about 25 good whicks with a hammer all around and it finally gave! it was just glued in place with limescale.

I noe have a shiney new shower head....one with multiple water patterns, a button that lets you reduce flow while you lather up to help save water and more importantly its a hand held ne, with a little clip at the top so it can be an above shower or taken off to rinse the hard to reach places..or in my case...to wash the dog!

Dozer got a bath! and he did very well too!

then took the babies thier bottles...checked on the ducks (there in their little house currently enjoying the sun and breeze).

today i also managed to clean out the duck brooder...ok well i empted it out and am now letting the sun bake it a while befor refilling it wiht fresh bedding
I installed the solar powered secutiy light over on the goat house...its not gonna pick me up as i walk don the hill (no way to atttch it that way) but it will get the movment as i round the corner and its set to stay on for 30 mins which is more than enough time to unhook the gate get in the goat house and feed, itll pick me back up when i come out of the goat house so im not wrestling with a flashlight while trying to close the girls in for the night. so i guess tonight we'll find out how bright this little thing is, but if it works well (and since its not hardwired in its compeltly movable) ill be picking a few more up for around the place as work progresses.
when its time to build the barn i do want full electric run out there so i wont need to worry about that so much, but the buck house, the piggy house and the sheep pen are all going to be neer the back of the property well away from any light source.

dinner is in the crock pot...chicken and dumplins is the plan, chicken thighs peas carrots and baby red potatoes sliced in a sauce of condensed mushroom soup thinned with water. sage, rosemary garlic thyme, and pepper and diced onion.
Gonna make the dumplings later mixing some parsely and some grated cheddar into the dough before cooking them :) the house smells yummy!

now its time to take the wire brush to my clipper blade to see if i can get rubby one last shave before i toss the blade (cant afford another blade right now at $20 and she needs her face cleaned up at very minimum. *fingers crossed*, then she gets a bath...shhhh dont tell her yet!
Jasper is always the last for bathtime because when your nekkid it takes 5 seconds to dry LOL.

Congrats on the fancy new showerhead! :bun :bun :bun

We use solar lights for a lot of stuff - they work great for our needs and once ya pay for them, the light they give is FREE! ;)

thats what im thinking, im cheap..and poor...so the idea or running extension cords everywhere just so i can see where im going is beyond me lol.
its also why i want to eventually have a couple of hand pumps sunk aorund the property for water (assuming ive got a high enough water table) 1, im lazy and dont want to haul water far...2, f it comes from the ground im not paying more for it lol.

all 3 dogs are bathed and looking perdyfull, dinner should be ready in about 20 mins (waiting on the dumplins now :drool )

still didnt get those plant pots done and unless installing the light counts i did nothing creative today...physical yes...but not creative... :/
ive been doing so well too lol
tomorrow is clean up day, and im going to make it a bigger than usual clean up day (pull all the furniture away from walls ect) in honor of spring :)
so tomorrow afternoon ill get those pots base coated (and mabe even get 1 painted)

and thursday i plan to get at least the pea trellises built, man once they start going...they GO lol. i sear they grew an inch during the day today LOL

Congratulations on the showerhead! We will be getting one that we can handhold too for the schnauzers. Did you get your outside light up? I have one of the small light that go around your head and one that attatches to a hat. I love them! Is Poppy doing better with the bottle?

i did get the little light up and it works nicely, now just need to adjust the timer so it stays on more than a few seconds.

Poppy is doing better on the bottle...shes not where id want her to be quite honestly but shes eating pellet, hay and brows (leaves and grass in the paddock and ive started cutting soem privet branches each day and "planting" them in the pen and there clearing them off quickly, so she IS eating, shes also not loosing weight, but as of right now im getting about 6oz into her in the morning and evening, she wants nothing to do with the 3pm bottle and chasing her to catch her and force her is stressing her more than nessicary so i give her whatever shell take in the morning before letting them out of the shelter (shell ONLY take a bottle if i catch her first...once i get the bottle to her lips shell take 3oz then a break then another 3oz, but i have to get the bottle to her mouth first and thats not willing lol.)
as long as shes looking healthy and not loosing weight though ive decided were not going to stress about it, shes definatly calming down a little, she lets me give her a quick scritch and doesnt get the panic look about her when i aproach...she wants me around, she just doenst want me too close lol. shes the one that puts up a fuss when i leave or when she hears my voice so she definatly wants me there, shes just not sure about the "close" part, wher as lilly si quieter overall but when im around she wants to be neer me, shell come and stand next to me and stare at me till i rub her nose or neck, or if im sat in the goat house shell come and lay next to me ect. im realy hoping poppy takes from this and that lilly continues to be this sweet natured too, Poppy is definatly comming around slowly though. at least she is in a closed area.
When payday hits i plan to get a big bag of apples and a tub of raisins, mabe some "sweets" will help win her over lol.

i will say when you dont have a grooming tub, having a hand held showerhead is a lifesaver with dogs.
when dad comes id like to see if we can replace the faucet in the kitchen with one with a spary hose function too, ruby is an inbetween size, shes JUST big enough to bathel fairly comforotbaly in the tub...but Jasper is too small in the tub (too much leaning/crouching/bending) so its much easier to bathe him in the sink but right now i kind of have to manouver him under the tap to rinse LOL.

I used to work in a dog daycare and a vet clinic so was super spoilt, i was allowed to use their grooming tub whenver i needed (and they had a full hydrolic kit the tub could be lwered to 12" from the floor so you didnt even need to lift large breeds in) i was alos allowed to use their grooming tables...i do miss having an easy to use grooming set up and im thinking about making space in the barn when i put it in (in the "milking" room) for a little grooming area with a proper tub and grooming table.

will have to try that...shes deifnatly stubborn.

this morning is...well...going.
bunnies are fed and doing well, bluebells litter is growing nicely and sloely starting to get their baby fur. right now its looking like a self castor, a black otter, 2 broken black otters, 1 broken castor and possibly a broken opal...
they all got huge handfulls of fresh clover this morning too :)
Fed the babies, and pruned them off some privet and "replanted" their pen so that should keep them busy for a few hours. doesnt take them long to strip the privet bare though lol.
hoping ill be able to get thier movable pen set up (and them used to walking on a leash) by may so they can realy start browsing down the property rather than my cut and plant methods right now lol.

today is clean up and hopefully picture day, havent gotten any new pics of Dozer in a while and hes now 50lbs at 5 1/2 months old. i dont think hes going to quite make it to 100lb mark now, hes definatly slowed down this month...but hes still going to be a big boy. obviously i need new duckling pictures and new goat pictures since everyone is growing so fast lol.
