oh yeah i whent a little green at the thought of it too, but at the time i didnt realy have time to think beyond "i need to do something now"
Managed to pick up sulmet from the co-op, so the girls have offically started cocci treatment, they get a 5 day regime then repeated again at about 8 weeks old, they were less than happy about it lol, they also got baking soda in their mineral feeder too so hopefully no more yicky tummies.
when i replace the cupboard in the bathroom with the one i brought with me im going to save the unit and put it up in my laundry room (and eventually the barn) and itll be home to the goaty first aid supplies, might as well put it to good use right?!
otherwise its soggy and wet and a little humid out right now...but all the trees are starting to put thier clothes back on! theres green all around me!
I like to have never been able to give the pups their first shots. I finally did though. I can do about anything except when it comes to needles...makes me queasy I can do shots now though at least.
I'd repurpose that cabinet too! Good on the baking soda, hopefully that's all it was and this will solve the issues.
she seems perfectly fine today so i think she was just runing me through practice drills LOL!
never thought id get so attatched to the little stinkers so quickly...
I gave my goats shots-once. Now I let the vet do it. The horses, no problem. However, the goats are a whole nudder story! And, I can't even BEGIN to imagine giving Rerun her shot! Cindy I could probably do. But, Rerun can turn quite nasty. I'm thinking I need to get a pair of welding gloves for handling her! She needs a brushing big time, but won't let me do it. And, she's so tiny, it's hard to even hold onto her!
definatly seems like it can be harder when there little...the dogs are the same way, much harder to give a shot to a small breed pup than it is a large breed pup.
well the girls did well yeserday, it rained most f the day so despite the shelter being opend up they spend the day mostly inside and the shelter stayed nice and dry *YAY*
Poppy is still only taking about 6 oz, but its a much more willing 6oz lol, i mean shes still not activly going for the bottle like lilly does...i think theres some kind of missing step in the communicationn center of the brain, becuase shes MUCH more willing to come neer me now, she doesnt bolt when i aproach her and she actulaly does come over for scritches...
this morning she even nibbled/headbutted my arm so im assuming that was hey wheres my milk (and im pretty sure if id been able to produce milk from my elbow all would be solved LOL) and once the bottle is IN her mouth shell slowly but readily take the 6 oz (after 6 she pulls away and realy starts to fight me about it again) BUT the act of getting the bottle IN her mouth is the part where thigns seem to be mising...i literally have to hold her in plce lift her head and shove it in her mouth...then shel drink it no problems. but its like shes not recognizing that that is indeed where the milk is comming from.
it is however getting better...just wish she was taking at least 9oz by now rahter than just the 5-6 but 5-6 is better than none so its progress.
and the baby buns are doing well too...nothing much to report there, ther not quite a week old so i havent taken any new pics yet (will sunday) Bluebell is a great momma!
otherwise thats about it.
Todays plan involves trying to make those trellises for the peas and doing some dishes, the girls need second dose of sulmet, but otherwise its going to be a fairly lazy day.
well im thinking on ideas for my kitchen to get it done and pretty before te parentals come...
Id love to put in new floors but im thinking $200 would be better spent elsewhere...So...im thinking good old fashioned PAINT.
Im thinking of ripping up the carpet, sand, fill and sand again then painting the floor white...Ill give it 2-3 coats with a good floor paint...then using the green i have left over use that to tint whatevers left of the white floor paint and do a nice border. itllbe the same green thats on the wall just alot lighter.
i want to pull the coppery red/orange color into the floor and backsplash too...just not sure how yet.
the backsplash i plan to paint white with whatever matching border i do on the floor.
then i think im going to leave the bottom cabinates the color they already are (that mustard yellow)
but paint the upper cabinates white.
remove all the handles and paint those with the copper red i think
i think if i go paint i can do the entire room for under $100,
the problem...HOW the hell do i move my stove and fridge?! the fridge is gimongous, im not sure where id even put it, and theres no way i can move it alone...the stoves not a big deal, its a pain and arkward but could go on the back deck for the time if i can get it out there...
I was origioanlly goign to do the floring myself but the appliance problem popped up...Gotta figure out the logistics...if the fridge will fit in the hallway and still allow me to get to the bathroom and if i can ge tthe damned thing shifted this plan is doable...
and no...it doesnt fit through the door without some major dismantling LOL
Im relitivly happy with the livingroom now. need some artwork and decorative touches, but im happy...the bedroom and the guestroom will get done as they get done...but the kitchen...it just needs to get done lol.
can you just move the appliances and paint that area of the floor and then put them back when the paint is dry? Obiviously they'd be shifted for a few days, but you could get those spots done, and then replace them and then do the rest of the floor.
Sounds like a fun project!! Glad the goat girlie is feeling better!!
