I have never understood that point of view from people either - I always free feed my animals. We did have issues with Rocky, when we first got him. He woofed his food, and was very aggressive around his bowl. We kept working with him, and now he's fine. If he isn't hungry, he doesn't eat. I have noticed that, if the cat decides to eat, he thinks he should too. When she's done, he's done  DH asked me the other day if I had stopped free feeding Rocky, as he has stopped filling out - he just looks lean and mean now - I explained that I haven't, he just hasn't been getting as much exercise (because I've been sickly), so he doesn't eat as much. :hu

IF I get things worked out, and my thyroid starts acting right again, I will have LOTS of clothes waiting for me! When I married DH, I was a six, up from a three (which made me look horrible - I worked two jobs, one of which had me walking at least 10 miles a day, so I couldn't keep weight on). After having DS#2, I was a 9, and fairly happy with that size - I am 5' 9" so a little more meat on my bones is good :) Now, with all this weirdness, I am a 16. :p Back to a 9 would be nice, and supply me with lots of 'new' clothes!

i think the pov is ust years and years of "well my vet says" or "well my dog trainer says" or "well my uncle says" people forget that each animal is an individual..i knwo not every dog in the world could be free fed, some would literally eat untill they pop, others woudlnt eat at all...
but i figure if its not broke...why fix it?! lol.

house is tidy/cleand, dishes done, bed made.

took my 3lbs of ground beef and made 1lb of sloppy joe meat, 1lb of taco meat and the final 1lb is in the crock pot with kidney beans tomatoes and chilli seasoning. all in all about 12-16 meals out of 3lbs of ground beef that was on sale to boot :) not bad. and there divided into 2 serving dishes, so i dont HAVE to have 4 meals of sloppy joes in the space of a week lol

tomorrow im going out to an early morning auction, its going to be an EARLY morning so im going to prep everyones breakfasts tonight so im not rushing around at 6:30 am trying to get done and out the door. so still got to do that
and need to prep dinner...
having chicken nuggets and sweet potatoe fries tonight. NOM.
going to bake up some mini muffins too, bananna....or chocolate chip? desicions...
and i want to pull a pack of chicken thighs out of the freezer too, ive got desires for a chicken stew and chicken enchiladas...

then for the most part tonight will be a quiet evening of tv watching and an early night...toss in some duck hearding and goat wrestling and a muscle relaxr before bed, my back is NOT happy with me today. :

How about chocolate chip, banana muffins. Then you don't have to decide between the 2.

well got up super early this morning so i could go with a friend to a "huge" auction, this thing has been advertised hyped up ect ect or the past month...got there and needless to say, disapointing.
there were about 10 trailers full of various Stuff...most of which being nothing id realy be interested in spending money on (and much of which to me looked like it would bring more money at the scrap yard.
the only livestock were some ponies/horses, 2 cows about 6 cages full of rough looking chickens some pigs and a couple of bunnies...we were both quite dissaponted by the selection especially given the hype around this one...so home early we came. thats ok though cause my backs playing up and my head is thudding.

Were going to make a super early go of it on Sat 5th or may though and head on down to first mondays...

but yeah plans for this afternoon are none existant...plans for the next week infact...and thats ok by me right now.

and i have a boyfriend lined up for the goslings if they are infact girls, will just have to go get him at the end of may. so YAY. ill have a trio instead of a pair but thats ok :)

and yeah, thats about all i have right now.
just having some lunch

Up here, I've noticed lately, the auctioneers are doing online previews for most of their upcoming stuff. That is so nice! I can sit at home and decide if it's worth the drive!

I lost my auction buddy. OK, I didn't loose him, my stepmother said he had to quit going because he just couldn't resist bringing home junk (A stepmothers junk, is a Hollanders treasure! ) Now, I almost never go :( but I still look at the previews online! :D

yeah the add for this one was a mile long, listed everything frm livestock to antiques to tools, to cages, pretty much "alot of everything" and it tirned out it was a little of alot of stuff but none of it worth the drive unless you like rusty old engines and badly cracked leather tack.
Ashame realy because the site it as set on was huge.

so i took Dandelion and Burdock Outside to "play" with the ducks for a while...
the ducks stillbelive im actually evil so they avoided me like the plauge, the goslings howver think i am momma and followed me around peeping...so no interaction with the ducks...
they were NOT impressed with the duck-koozie (a 3 gallon rubber bowl i use as a "pond") infact youd think that water was going to make them melt LOL. but they did enjoy nibbling on the grass...ALOT.
cleaned out their brooder again, straw and goose poop...well not effective, and i have no shavings (not like shavings were any better) so...Newspaper it is...figure at least i can just add a few sheets a few times a day then toss the next morning and start fresh.

i figurd out what i need for thier house so as soon as payday arrives ill be off to lowes to pick up that stuff (i figure after taxes about $40 should build them and the duckies "new digs")
the geese are going to have a 4x4 house and the duckies will have a 2x4 house attatched to that)
i figure as they mature the ducks and geese probably will not "choose" to use their house (ill be building some covered shelters in the orchard) so the duck/goose house im building now wil eventually become a dog house for the Livestock guardian i will eventually be getting...OR i could probably lift it put it on wheels and turn it into a little mobile coop for chickens or guinneas shoudl fit 1/2 a dozen birds if there left to free range during the day.
im planning on making it in such a way that the wals can easily be removed for getting inside to clean it, and the roof on the duck coop will also be hinged (this way if i decide to go chickens the duck part o the house will become prime nestbox space, if i go dog house that part will be where food and water can go...
So hopefully itll be a good dual purpose house. im not planning on adding a floor to it right now, ill do a deep litter metohd shavings direct on the ground then rake out as needed anything that cant be raked out will compost down anyway so...
But yeah thats my first May project.
the geese NEED to go out LOL
other may projects include getting my kitchen floor and backsplash done.
and putting steps off the back deck.

its getting there...slowly but surely. lol

and now...chilli for dinner as thunder rumbles in the distance :)

well i think this is the weirdest thunderstorm ive ever encountered
at 5:15ish the thunder started rumbling in the distance...that deep low "airplane just passing over" rumble...
that rumble literally hasnt stopped since...its not been tunder break thunder break, ive seen no lightning...just 1 long low deep rumble of thumber thats been an absolute constant since 5:30 it seriously sounds like theres an airplane (or heavy truck) rumbling constantly over myhouse. its cool...kinda freeky...but cool.
got a little hail, but it switched to rain after a few mins...severe t-storm warning untill 7:30pm for my area (and WBF your in the warning zone too though radar looks like its fizzling a little bit before it hits your area) but its deinatly been all thunder and rain, no lightning, no wind...and seriously no break in that thunder rumble untill about 2 minutes ago when it stopped and now were geting thunder break thunder...
unfortunatly though the pressure feels like it suddenly increased as soon as the low rumbling stopped. my ears are unhappy :/

odd odd t-storm.

and the ducks are loving every moment out there lol.
