The Amish here occasionally wear colors other than shades of black/white/gray. A little boy the other day had on a striking, deep purple shirt. His sister had on a matching dress, with a black apron thingy over it. I so wanted to ask where the Mom got that fabric, as it was gorgeous, but I usually avoid conversations. Most only speak to outsiders if they are forced to, and it really becomes tricky if you approach the wife, while her husband is present, so I kept my trap shut for once :p I do know that they use beautiful, deep colors in their quilts. Wish they weren't so darn expensive!

Those bunnies are so cute! I like the ones (black otters) that look like they have Amish-style beards!

So envious of the flowers! I have some buds, but still have frost/freeze warnings until early May, so I'm OK with that. Ah, evening Primrose. Makes me think of The Hunger Games. Might go reread it now, just cuz :p

pull it and then spritz the area with a little round up aparently. it spreads pretty "efficiently" in any sunny fairly dry spot lol.
its so pretty its just in an arkward spot lol. its trying to eat my firepit.

well the maters, peppers and Basil are all covered up just in case, gave bluebell and rowans hutches a good handfull of fresh hay for the babies to snuggle into if the temsp do drop harshly

the ducks are in

and the goats are in and VERY unhappy with me...they just almost 10 weeks now so today they got cut back to 1 bottle and should be completly weaned by the second weekend in May...but MAN getting them locked up without thier bottles to lure them in...well that was fun! it took some goat juggling but got them in, they are not happy, infact there fairly certian that their human aide has brain damage lol.

Crap...I can't do the whole Roundup thing. I guess I may just burn it out. It is pretty, but that stuff is SUPER invasive if ya can't get it in check! It worked pretty well as a groundcover around my squash last year though. Unfortunately I moved the squash and that's where the peppers will be. I wonder if it would hurt them :hu

it shoudlnt hurt the peppers, infact it might help them, peppers like humidity around the fruit (which is why id does well when planted with tomaters) so the primrose actually grows to the perfect height to provide the cover around the fruit without shading the leaves :)

i personally plan to let it hit seed pod, collect the seeds then pull up what i can, i want tokeep it around, its a native wildflower from what im reading, but i dont want it around the firepit as im retty sure it wont look pretty all charred and wilted lol.
i dont do roundup unless i have to either (and by have to i mean poisen ivy in a spot i cant just let the goats eat it lol) (and then i actually try and just shove the leaves of whatever im trying to kill into a little bottle of roundup and let it suck it all in, kills the plant without poisening the ground of plants around it.)

I use straight vinegar as a weed killer, in a spray bottle. It works, eventually, but doesn't kill the roots like roundup would :/
