Sorry about the fish....we got maddie 5 neons yesterday and 2 have already died....the others seem to be doing well though.
The good thing about getting a bigger crate is that you can always use it for other stuff. I used our dog crate, it's a bigger collapsible one for our Lab, for transporting a goat to the breeder and transporting ducks and chickens to swaps. I love it cause i just hose the bottom off and fold it up when i don't need it. The dog is old enough now that he doesn't need to be in it.
yeah neons tend to be delicate, he good news is though the ones you get to survive will live forever lol. (same goes for most fish, i think if you can ge tthem past the first month they tend to do fine almost no matter what lol.
this morning around 9 am i was feeding everyone and bringing in a bowl of cat food and my fingers kinda whent funny and i dropped the bowl...dry cat food everywhere i got it mostly up before dozer got too much into his tummy lol, hes gonna stink in a few hours...
had breakfast, oatmeal, nothing odd abnomral or different about it...
then about almost 10am i was on my laptop and my depth perception suddenly whent wonky...
my arms and legs felt longer than they were and my laptop seemed further away than it actually was...
i was aware that it didnt feel right...
then that whent away...
about 11:45 ish let tempi in and took the dogs out for a potty break, same ole same ole, but since ive come back in (so a good 45 mins or so now) ive been smelling somehting odd...
i took my sweater off and got the first wiff...and since then im sat on my chair and keep getting a wave (lasts a few seconds then gone for a min or 2 then back again) of this smell.
it reminds me of baby powder, or that same slighlty soft musky floral tone.
its not a bad smell, but its realy odd. i sniffed my way around the house, its not a gas leak or bunring smell so im certain i dont have to worry about exploding (and my fire is currenlty lit so id know if it were gas) its very perfumey..veyr muhc reminded me of baby powder.
I dont own baby powder...
or anything with that similar odor for that matter.
its comming from the left hand side, seems to be focused around the corner of jacks cage and the arm of my chair..nothing has been spilt, nothing under ther and nothing new in jacks cage...i opend the front door to see if it was comming in that way (it would be to my left and air flow would probably bring it round from that direction) and nothing stood out as odd/didnt smell it form outside...
ive sniffed all the dogs (who all need baths LOL!) its not them, tempi ran back out so its not her rolled in something. not gomming from the tank either...
checked the bathroom (the only room with anythign that remotly holds enythign that could smell like that and it doesnt seem to be comming from in there, and its not the scent of the plug in in the back bedroom so its not that either, nothing in the kitchen either.
this is realy odd.
to top it off i keep getting a twinge of tightness above my right eye, and behind my right ear and my fingers feel that slightly tingly as if they were cold sensation, but its not cold in here, jaspers not shivering and the pups are quite comfortable...
but that could just be because im tired...
im going to have to pull out jacks cage and my chair to see if mabe something has been draged under there, and stand outside for a bit and se if it follows me (if not its somehting in the house or in my head, if it does its something outside or in my head lol)
i suffer from absence seizures but havent had any of the typical warning signs on that (i wouldnt know if i was "zoning", but i typicaly know before and afterwards that somethings not quite right...)
this is definatly not my typical seizure behaviour.
ive never experienced anythign like this...
gonna go to the bathroom then make another ditch effort at figuring out what could be causing the smell...
cause while its not a "bad" smell, its kinda overwhelming when it hits.
Do you only smell it in that room or does it follow you?
I don't want to be an alarmist, but after doing a quick search... Are you by chance diabetic? Tingling fingers, dry skin, smelling something sweet can all be symptoms of diabetes. Maybe Beekissed has some insight?
ETA: Maybe you should call a Dr.? Don't mess around with your health!
oh good! That is so weird... The tingling, facial twinge and depth perception stuff is worrying. If if persists, I would definitely check in with a Dr. We want you well!
CO2 detectors in all rooms all with new batteries (changed them when i moved in) and nothings going off...the smell is definatly sweet...kinda like roses.
yah im calling the doc when they reopen at 2 and see what he thinks. deifnatly knocked the wind outta my sails.
