well ive been not around for a while partly because thigns got a little hectic and partly because I couldn't get things to work...and my brain wasn't processing....
cleared cookies and tada back to normal lol.

anywho...stuffs

piggies moved, and seem to be quite happy in their new pen.
goaties seem happy...
and we have 4 new additions
Gandalf, Gimli, Arwen and Goldberry...

yup finally took the paca-plunge!
love them.
need to get them sheared and working on halter training but they are still getting settled in...

goats got dewormed, still need to do feet, cant find my foot shears...*grumbles*

and im almost done with rabbitry setup...still need 3 more pieces of trellis and the auto water system, but otherwise im quite content with how its going in thee right now.
have 3 rex bred for our last litters before the real heat comes in.
the angoras ive only got 3 left not under deposit...and ive got a good amount of interest in silvers litter.

at least 1/3rd of the meat chickens will be heading to freezer camp this weekend if I can get thigns together in time...I wont be sad to see them go that's for certain *YUCK*
turkeys are doing great, looks like 2 males and 3 females, well be keeping 1 male and 2 females, and the other 2 will likely head to freezer camp when their time is right.

weve still got a lot of projects to work on including fencing the front pastures and the veggie garden...but im not super woman lol. so itll come as it comes.

well the rain decided to avoid us and I got some free trellis off the side of the road
so...heres our rabbitry progress so far!

still need white tarps for the front to finnish off and I want to add a top brace across the top of the fan/gate frame, ive got trim to finnish off the top edge on the front trellis too...the trellis is more in place to keep the dogs out
I still need a small piece of something for the gate in the back, though making that "look pretty" isn't as important as you don't see that from anywhere by the house...or realy...in the backyard.
the front can be seen so I want that to look at least kinda complete.

so im happy with the progress today.
the red pot has been moved to the other side and the eventual central water system will go in that general vicinity (since power acess is right above ther eon the inside...)

but yeah!

oher jobs for this afternoon include litterboxes, and making dinner, and of course critter bedtime chores.

were making progress...slowly but surely...lol

didn't get too much done toay should have tidied my room or started moving the wood pile...but I didn't...so...it ended up being a lazy day...gotta not let that happen as much lol.
sat out on the patio right now enoying the warmth and waiting for the oven to beep...
started making dinner a lot earlier and doging critter chores after dinner now weve got more hours...hoping itll avoid the rush since dinner is my job and last night I was just super frazzled trying to get dinner made and critters done before it got too late/dark.

added a second fan to the rabbitry yesterday and it made a good amount of difference so I think were ging to be ok this summer.
picked up 5 Delaware chicks, were planning on putting them with the rhodebarrs as wed get sex links...and selling the little cockerelle we had tot take toget the 4 pullets, or eating him...
well dad likes them, thinks well sell pure breed chicks for more than sexlink mixes and wants to keep the del rooster...
I tried explaining that wed then have to keep the 2 flocks separate...he seems ok with this idea...for now...we'll see what happens when it comes time to make 2 coops instead of 1...since we NEED a coop building soon.

turkeys are doing great, alpacas are doing great, meat chickens are growing ...will be pulling in groups probably 10 this week, 10 next week and the smallest the week after that. (that batch will be 12 weeks)
got 2 incubators going with goose eggs so hoping they all hatch nicely...that's feed fund.

plans for today involve a run to town this morning, then im hoping this afternoon to get the brush in the hold zone and the area that's going to be added to the veggie garden shifted so we can work on that this week.
were already WELL behind on that project and I doubt well get much in thee this year for summer...mabe fall stuff...
but like everything else its a project someone else REALY wants that im going to find myself doing it all.

happy mothers day to all the mommas out there, be those kids human or otherwise!

hit up the flea market late this morning, no good bargains this week (last week we got a stunning spinning wheel and a 8qt press in fantastic condition, both purchased for less than 1/4 their actual value (the people with the wheel had NO idea what they had, its an 1850, COMPLETE flax wheel with original birdcage distaff! (most are missing the distaff at the very least).
only thing wrong with it is a piece of leather that snapped on the treadle to the drivewheel...easy fix!
still trying to figure out the original maker (marke only H.S 1850) but its pretty, sisters birthday gift form the parents.

this week however I HAD to go back for her gift from me...
2 beautiful cascade hops vines! I was expecting little 6-12" starts for the price (that's what I could buy online for that price) but instead for some gorgeous 24-36 multi vine starts in 1.5 gallon pots!
very happy, its the areas horticultural society so its a nice local hardy root stock.
othersday so everyone was packing up early...but im trying to get as many trips in before the summer vacation starts...its in an area popular for vacation travel (poconos) so once school gets out its HEAVY traffic throught hat area so we wont be going until fall once that hits.

nothing else going on though...dads mowing the lawn, didn't get the meat chickens done this weekend o were going to have some monsters by next...our biggest ar at right around 6 1/2-7lbs right at 10 weeks...they'll mke some nice roasters though if there too tough for parts...
plan is to put 1/3rd of them into the freezer whole, and part out the rest for grilling and for stews pies and curries
next Saturday is our country poultry show so im planning on going, hoping to find some frineds for lil roo since he will be moving out from the rhodebarr girls soon.

I also need to get shearers this week...I NEED to get the Paca's clipped asap...weve got few days of he 80s this week then cool for the end then back up next week...I don't think we are getting spring nd I don't want them getting over heated...yup...ill be doing this myself....NOPE ive never done pacas before...yep ive watched ALOT of youtube vids and think I can handle it...(going to try the stnding up method as I think thatll be much less stressful) and YEP im REALY nervous (mostly about the areas between the legs (under "arms" groin ect, I get nervous with those on the dogs as they are prone to get nicked...so little scary on a paca whos anatomy im still not intamatly familiar with.

so..the plan for this week...
early week:
order clippers,
work on tidying room
later in the week once it cools down:
move veggie fence/put up more fence
clear brush piles
move fire word
(the latter 2 are to make froom for building a processing station and eventually bulding a larger coop for the layers/turkeys.)
over the weekend we need to add:
poultry show
clip alpaca
process some of the meat chicks
to the roster.

as a side note dads now talking about opening a BnB in the furure for his retirement...itll be a working one...my job...make sure theres eggs for the table, milk for the yogurt and soap for the guests LOL.

I wouldn't be dealing with the bnb/people side of things so much, but I do think it could be great for momma whos very social.
but I tought you know, get a farm property, ill be incharge of the livestock...breakfast would come freh form the farm, egg clooected daily from our own hens, seasonal fruits and jams form the garden ect...
something close to a natinlal park (or with enough of its own land) for trail rides and such.
each room would get a little guest bar of soap and sample bottle of lotion, home made with goats milk of course and wed have full sized bars and bottles at the little store front so they could buy a big bar before they leave,
there would be home knitted wool blankets in each room from alpaca wool, and then have alpaca wool for sale in the shop so people would be able to get a feel (and of course we can custom crochet/knit one for you by special order too...
have special demo weekends once a month where we open to the public for milking or spinning displays ect...

so many ideas. lol

I even found the perfect potential property, 15 acres, barn, fully fenced, little farm house, directly across form a national park and only 15 mins from Chattanooga ...but at $200K its out of my reach and dads got another few years before he can retire and doesn't have the money to spend right now :/

anywho...
not much going on here...feeling a little stuck and spinning my wheels again. got so many things I want to get done but I cant do them without help and when I ask for help I get brushed off and then a few days later get told "you realy need to think about...."
but itll get there.
planning chicken processing on the meat birds right now...o much to do.
