Nice pic, I hated both my proms, they were awful! He looks like a good kid, sorry about your garden. I had my husband construct a cover for my raised beds to protect my seeds and transplants from all the thunderstorms they are predicting. They have to be hand watered every day but at least they don't get battered or flooded by the storms. Hope it lets up soon!

In the past 2 days, it has rained 5 1/2". Enough already!!

The only thing in my garden is onions, cabbage, brocolli, cauliflower and tomatoes. Oh, yeah, and WEEDS! In the cornfield, if you look real hard, you might be able to distinguish the corn from the weeds. :he We can't work it since it's been so wet.

My watermelons are in the greenhouse and really need to go in. The mulch that I had in my flowerbed is now in my walkway. The gravel that was in the upper driveway is now in the road. What can you do except to bear with it and wait for prettier days down the road?

Unfortunately, DS got laid off yesterday. He'll be able to draw a little bit, though.

Since all the rain, I've been able to get some sewing done. I'm piecing a flannel quilt for DH in the "Chip Off The Old Block" pattern. He likes the material so much that I had to order another jelly roll. I also managed to almost complete a lap quilt top. I'll try and finish that today.

DH got 3 grapevines planted last night and I picked about a dozen ripe strawberries. Those little plants are hanging full. In a week or two, I hope to be making jam and putting some in the freezer.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Wow! That is quite a bit of rain, punkin! Sounds to me like God knew you needed to work on those quilts! ;) Last year, we captured rain in barrels. It sure helped with watering the gardens.

I'm with you on the rain....it has rained hard for 2 weeks now. The boys are getting sick of it and it sure makes doing outside work hard and muddy.

But the grass is lovin' it!!!! :p I'm just glad I don't have anything planted in the garden right now.....its so cold and wet, it would surely have rotted or molded by now.

I know what you mean about the rain. We had about a month of nothing but rain. We had 5 inches in one day. I don't know how much for the month but I know it was a lot. My garden flooded twice. All my dirt was in the ditch. Thank goodness it finally quit raining megatons of water daily. Of course then we went for 3 weeks with no rain at all.

I guess like Bee said. You needed to work on your quilts - I used the rainy time to work in the house and build a much needed rabbit cage.

For everything there is a purpose, a time and a season.

It is raining here too, with no signs of it stopping through the weekend.
I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's job. Hope something comes up soon!

Calling for a week of rain everyday here too. I'm really glad I have a tunnel over my raised beds or everything would be gone. Bad thing is that i have to hand water everything even though it's raining but that's better than losing the whole thing.

Good to hear that you are sewing too! Where are the pics??? :)

OK, you asked for them . . . (insert drumroll here)

These are the quilt blocks for DH's quilt. They measure 8x8. I'm waiting on the other jelly roll to come in so I can make it bigger.

This is the lap quilt I'm working on. It's 45x28 without the borders. I need to get some lavender and black fabric for the borders and backing. I haven't decided if I want to have it quilted or tie each middle block with a matching button. It is going to be a Christmas gift.

These are some of the purses and a tote I've finished for birthdays. The black and yellow tote is for a best friend who just finished her first year teaching. The plaid purse with the small horse print is for another best friend. The John Deere is for an Aunt and the UT Vol purse is for another Aunt. The lavendar is for my pastor's birthday.

I'm glad I got the yard mowed yesterday, because thru Saturday is going to be sewing days. We are supposed to get 4-6 more inches of rain. I suppose now I'm glad I didn't get my seeds in the ground because they would probably be burried or washed away.

You have quite the eye for fabric use. Great projects! Thanks for the pictures!

Do you suppose Mrs Noah quilted on the ark? ;)
