Oh Punkin, I love them!!! I'm going to the library today to get some books on sewing....it's addicting! I would probably be sewing again today but we have a playdate and I have to deliver some eggs. I love the bags and the quilts are too cute! It's nice to have someone elses projects to see! Thanks for the pics!

Thanks, all. I like making them. And, on rainy days it gives me something to do (other than cleaning house ;) )

Yesterday morning and this morning both, woke up to the sound of . . . guess what! RAIN! As of today, we have had almost 8" in the last week.

My dad said he would probably have to replant his beans and okra. Alot of it is burried too deep in the mud. I noticed 4 little green tomatoes on the seedless tomatoes I'm trying this year. The Park's Whoppers are just now blooming.

We have a well that is over 600' deep. In the past 2 days, we have had to change the filter twice due to all the mud being stirred up. They should last for 2-3 months. They cost about $12.50 each. But, if we didn't have them, we would sure have muddy water coming out the taps.

Yesterday, I got my craft room cleaned out and reorganized. It actually looks bigger since I picked up stuff off the floor. I'll probably work on my quilts today. DH headed up to the shop to change the oil in the tractor. We're just looking for stuff to do inside since we can't be outside. :(

We get yucky iron water coming out our well if it rains a lot. We must have the same or very similar filters because that is about the cost of ours and we have to replace it every other month because of the iron.

Today is the first day in a while without a chance of rain. :weee I'm going to mow the yard when it warms a bit and the dew dries off. Then, I'd like to get some of the weeds hoed out of the garden and hang out a load or two of laundry.

Alot of people here are replanting beans and okra. If it wasn't up and steadfast, it got washed away or burried. Maybe this afternoon, it will be dry enough for DH to run the tiller through so I can get the rest of my plants out. We have last years melons coming up in the garden and I'm sure a fine crop of rocks.
More rain is expected in isolated showers for the rest of the week.

I did get a new sewing/embroidery machine to keep me busy on foul weather days. It's quite amazing and very easy to use. I'm going back and putting initials on the BBQ napkins I made for my friend's birthday. I keep kidding my DS telling him that I'm going to put his initials in his boxers. :D

PP, we had to change the filter again. :th That's 3 in one week. :rant

Congrats on your new sewing machine! How wonderful!

I have a friend that makes considerable money on the side doing machine embroidery work. She buys interesting cotton materials, trims it to size, hem it up and embroiders it and sells them as fancy kitchen towels! She also does decorative sweatshirts, which have machine appliqued quilt designs on the front and back and are embellished with embroidery. She buys printed cottons with pictures in the print (like my favorite one a little angle flying over her garden with a water can) uses iron on pellon and then zigzags the picture in place. After that she embroiders flowers on the shirt in good spots (like center back or shoulder it depends on the design).

Those sweatshirts sell like hotcakes at Christmas time. She used to just bring them to work with her and sell before and after work and at lunch.
