Punkin, I am still waiting for my first cup of coffee this morning (I overslept) and I got exhausted just reading your post!

What a productive busy day! Congratulations on the plant sales!

I did a little more cleaning yesterday morning, but already you can't tell it. I think that's why I hate housework so much - two days later, you have to do it all again. :tongue

DS came home from work sick after about an hour. He had really bad stomach cramps, but was OK after about 4 hours.

I finished planting a row of tomatoes in the garden. Now I have 4 large park whoppers, 7 Brandywines, 4 Rutgers, 2 Sweet Seedless and 5 Roma. I'm really anxious to see how the Sweet Seedless taste. I know alot of people who can't eat seeds due to Diverticulytis (sp).

After lunch, I ran a few errands. Had to go buy my flowers this year, becaue I didn't have the room to plant seeds. Pretty terrible, coming from a greenhouse person.

Went to go pick up my DS's tuxedo for his school's Riverboat Cruise on Thursday. It's classic black with a silver tie & vest. I can't wait to see him in it - he's usually in ripped jeans and t-shirt. He, his best friend and their "dates" (friends, really) are meeting here, so I'll have a great photo opportunity.

It's going to be another warm and beautiful day here, so I think I'll go get some sunshine on me . . .

That sounds like the same flu stuff that we just had, with the stomach cramps and all. For hubby it was about 24 hours, for GEEK son about 12 and lucky me ... I was REALLY sick for about 3 days and "off feed" for about 5!

I hope that you can avoid getting it! The sunshine cure should help.

It is supposed to rain here - tonight through Friday! We needed rain, but in true Midwest fashion we always get way too much of everything.

Punkin - do you have to be certified or registered to sell plants in your area? Just curious since I am planning on selling some herb cuttings next year. I have not checked with my states requirements yet but figure its easier to ask forgiveness than permission in most cases. LOL
What a coincidence you asked this question, now. Yesterday, a "Plant Inspector" came by my DH's shop (where we sell) and told us that we do have to be certified. We think someone pointed him in our direction, because the plants were still inside the shop. Fortunatly, a lady came by and cleaned us out right before he got there.

My DH said he was really nice, but that my greenhouse has to be inspected. He also said not to worry about it this year since I had one flat left.

The fee for 1 year certification is $100 for hobby greenhouses less than 600 sq. ft. My falls right at 584 sq. ft. More than 600 sq. ft. and the fee doubles.

It's no big deal, though. He explained that they just want to stay on top of any diseases, pests, etc. And, if I have questions they can help me. He did say that I had "some very healthy looking plants." Plus, next year I can say that these plants come from a "state inspected greenhouse". :)

Oh, forgot to tell ya'll that I "disposed of" a copperhead yesterday. DH was mowing around his tractor implements up in the field. These implements are on a thick commercial felt.

I was pulling weeds out of a flower bed when I heard him blow the mower horn. I walked over to where I could see him and he yelled "Come see this copperhead!" I grabbed a hoe and walked up. I stuck the end of the hoe down to it, and boy, did it strike!

It was about 2 1/2 feet long and looked like it had eaten something small. We figured it was mousing under the felt. Still unusual for it to be out in the open field. Walking through, I never would have seen it.

All snakes welcome, except if you're a copperhead.

.... Or a water moccasin... I had a little swim with one of those at the lake when I was a kid. No injury just scared me bad. My grandma dispatched it with her handy hoe as well!

I guess we should include rattlers in the list too.

By the way have you ever seen guineas "dispatch" a snake?

It is too cool. One sounds the alarm - they all circle the snake - then 1, 2, 3 and everybody grabs a hunk of snake and pulls. Tears the poor snake apart. AND they don't seem to care to take the time to identify a poisonous snake from a helpful one. It is a snake - it's gotta go.

I just wanted to share a pic of my handsome young man on prom night.

His date, really a best friend, was gorgeous. I didn't want to post a pic of her without permission. They went on a riverboat cruise and had a great time.

Not so much going on around here, except rain, rain and more rain.
Looks like I'm gonna have to use the dryer if we want clean clothes.

We are supposed to get so much rain over the next week, that I think I missed the window to get more of my garden out. The corn we planted a couple of weeks ago is coming up nicely. My dad got his seeds out, so I guess we will eat early from his garden and later from mine.

Hope everyone stays dry and has a good day!

Very handsome young man you have :D

I hadn't thought about guineas killing snakes - I have some eggs being set for me by a hen at my Mom's house. I wanted them to eat ticks and bugs, but hey if they will help the cats with the snakes I'm all for it.
