oh man I feel sorry for DH
hope all works out well for him...good chance it was a human accoustomed squirrel and not rabid...yikes
and I won't be googling "rabid squirrel" LOL-LOL

hope you are doing good!!!!

so busy aren't we?

Are you going to be using your camper????

I have mine in for a fix with the slide....ugh!! Should be under warranty but they are fighting me...I hate that..LOL..but I will win. Should be getting it back soon and going to Waldo's Water World near me in NC....just for Nicole to have some fun......

I love the oversized tote!! you go girl...you sure are sewing now! Any plans to sell at a craft fair or anything...people love homemade totes etc.!!
Hey FC, good to hear from you! I hope you are having good luck with your crops this year. Our garden is very stunted this year because of all the rain. It doesn't have time to dry out to work it up. I don't think we have had a string of more than 4 days this spring without rain.

I hope to get to use the camper this year. It's sure going to be a chore to move everything we have piled under it and in front of it. Sorry about your slide. You keep fighting for that warranty.

I think most of the quilts are going to be gifts this year. That will save me alot of time looking around for Christmas gifts - just trying to plan ahead.

They are sooooo pretty! I love the sunflower one! I love that rail fence block, goes together so quick and easy and looks fabulous when you're done. We did a lot of those for the nursing home patients and they loved them. Love the tote too!
Thank you lori. The rail fence is super easy and fast. I was at Hobby Lobby today and someone else mentioned they made quilts for nursing home patients. That's a good idea. Maybe just an anonymous donation for someone.

I couldn't resist looking up rabid squirrel. :ep Wow, that's all I'll say. Some people are just too creative.

Your quilts look lovely. That is the one thing that I don't know how to do at all, quilting.
At least you admitted it. :D

These quilts are very easy to do. I've not ventured into actually quilting one yet, mine are just tied at the middle block on every block. It's a real time saver.

I like the rail fence block cause you can rearrange it too, to make different designs like a pinwheel, basket weave or lightning strike. We did ours through our church, my mom and I did 10 quilts in 2 months to donate to a local nursing home's residents. We took them with us when the children's church went to sing to them and let the kids choose a quilt and give it to someone. I made an extra one for my DH's nanny. We had lots of marathon quilting weekends! I love the one made into the tote....so cute!

I admit I looked up rabid squirrel too. Almost fell out of my chair.
I was at work.

Hopefully Hubby won't have to any shots. Those things are awful from what I hear.

And I am not in a nursing home but I am old. Fell free to make an anonymous donation in my direction. (just kidding) Well kind of.
That would be a nice thing to do.
Not to me, I mean the anonymous donation thing to a nursing home.

We looked up rabies shots too. Now they are three simple shots taken in the arm with no side effects. Yea for medical advancement.

Several years back we had a child get bitten by a chipmunk. We were able to catch and dispatch the chipmunk and took it and the child to the emergency room.

They told us that small creatures (like a squirrel???) very seldom contract rabies. They are small so if they are bitten by a rabid animal they usually die from the wound.

No since taking chances however.

By the way they doctored the wound and sent our kid home with no shots.

Thank you, Morel. Glad you a getting your machine out.

How is Lolaa, BTW? (Hope I remembered how to spell her name)

FF, after doing alot of googling, we found out that rodents and hares very rarely carry rabies. Due to their habits, they aren't around the worst carriers like opossum, skunks and raccoons.

His wound is better, but it is bruised.

He said the squirrel nibbled the ear of corn he offered, then went postal. It bit him on the wrist, ran around his are a couple of times, then over his neck to the other arm before he could sling it off. DH weighs about 250 lbs. and I sure would have like to seen him trying to sling off this 2 lb. squirrel.

We have raised and released several squirrels. The last one Squee, came to us as a pinkie! My daughter and I got her raised, but she had NO IDEA she was a squirrel. She spent long hours playing with our cat. I knew she would never be safe in the wild, so we kept her as a pet for many years. She was great and very gentle.

One day my SonIL's brother (in his 20's) came to visit us and he was quite interested in the squirrel, but nervous around her. He was offering her a little nut, but when she would come to take it he would jump away some reflexively. Squee perceived it as teasing. She finally just jumped on his hand bit him and took the nut.

She was a very, very tame squirrel. Who knows what was going on in the brain of you DH's wild one.

PS.

After we calmed the nerves, doctored the little nip, and put away the squirrel - we bought him a T-shirt for Christmas that pictured a gray squirrel and said "Just give me the seed and nobody will get hurt!". :p I can't believe we found a gift SO perfect! :gig
