Today is finally winding down. Just tucked the kiddos into bed, nursing the baby while I'm perusing the site, and just ready to relax.

Today I got my broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage planted. I was quite pleased.

I helped DH clean his mini barn and organize some things.

Lazy people feigned being sick today to get out of doing anything. Gave me a sob story about how they were running a fever of 101 point something, and it was "almost a 102!" Oh I disappointed them by saying, "Well, that's only a high fever in a child or a pregnant woman, a normal adult's high fever is 104 or more, so you should be fine." I'm so cruel. Their appetite sure wasn't affected for being so ill.

We should have enough of the pallets left to make one more A-Frame coop. The second A-Frame coop will be for my pair of light Brahma bantams. Then over the next week or two, we will be working on building my fancy coop with the red tin roof for my Mille Fleurs. :D I'm super excited and can't wait to start that!!

I sold 3 dozen Speckled Sussex eggs today!! :D It felt wonderful!!

I believe you should DEFINITELY follow the wise old wife's adage - you should feed a cold and STARVE a fever! ;) It would be simply terrible to worsen their condition by giving them any food! :thumbsup

I really like your "A" frame design. Is there roost in the top portion? How big is it (tall X long)?

I love things I can make from scrap!!

I have some GREAT recipes for invalids from some really old cookbooks.

How about Barley Tea?

Cook barley in water. Strain the barley out and feed it to your animals.

The invalids get to drink the water! :gig

No, I didn't put a roost in it. Honestly, I was just so excited to make a A-Frame coop for my two bantams, I didn't even think of a roost! Not until it was too late and we weren't sure how we were going to get it in there. Robert and Fran usually sleep on the step to a wooden later, anyway, so I thought they might not worry about a roost. I plan to have this coop set up in the air on a couple cement block and give them a little ramp from their two front doors.

Um, we haven't actually measured the coop LOL Not until we were laying on the shingles, we measured those how long we wanted them so we could cut them off. I'll work on measuring it out for ya, I know it's not 3 foot tall, maybe 2.5 feet...and the front is approximately 18 inches wide and the length might be 2 foot, but I'm guessing. I'll measure it. :)

Neighbor thinks DH and I should build them and sell them LOLOL

I think I'll try the barley tea before I let blood....not sure I want them bleeding all over my farm, ya know? :gig

You know, that building coops and selling them might turn into a lucrative little sideline! My sister and her husband are building mobile coops and selling them for $700 each! :th They have more people interested, even at that price, than you can shake a stick at! I think my niece is even going to buy one.

Might want to think about that one, Aly.....put your houseguests to helping with a handy little sideline on your hatchery income. ;)

Oh! BTW, I highly recommend castor oil for just about any ailment!  :gig Gets folks back on their feet in no time!

Castor oil, huh??

Hmmm...

Well, the SIL, Niece, and BF just left for a couple hours. Told us they were going one way, but we watched them leave and they actually went the other way. Now why lie??? It isn't like I am going to stop them from going where they need to go.

I hate being lied to. I won't stand for it. :barnie

Today was Ok at the cardiologist with my DS. His heart is FINE everything came back perfectly normal!!!! and we were given an ultrasound picture of the four chambers of his heart which will be put in his baby book.

Came home and learned I had been nominated to win free guinea eggs on BYC by a dear friend, AND I WON SIX GUINEA EGGS!! What wonderful friends I have!! Whatever I have hatch out of the eggs, I will share with my friend who nominated me.

Picked up a doeling for my mother today. She saw mine, and decided she wanted one, too, so I ran out and picked up the last one they had for my mom. She's quite pleased.

Ready for a nap. LOL who knew going to the Dr. could be sooooo exhausting!!
