That's the way to light a fire under lazy butts. All acting like this is a "vacation" they are on.

Congrats on the ducks. Waiting on pics . . . :caf :D

Um uh, well...lol

Does getting a new puppy count????

How about getting TWO new puppies??????? ;)

Do ya'll remember my posting about having to put my Maggie down on Christmas? DH at the time had said he'd get me another heeler mix, and I said no, I didn't want another one.

Well, neighbor down the road had a litter of six puppies. Mom was a black lab and the dad was a blue heeler. Five of the six pups looked like their dad, and there was one pup that was solid black with a white chest and white tips on her toes. Here's the kicker, the Momma dog was named Maggie! :th

So I chose the runt. We picked her out at 4 weeks old and we were able to pick her up this week. Isn't she darling???
Taylor.jpg

I named her Taylor, because she looks just like our dog Earnhardt when he was a pup, and Dale Earnhart Sr.'s youngest daughter is named Taylor...kookie I know, but as you can tell we are crazy Nascar Earnhardt fans...we're nuts, and I know it!

When we picked Taylor up to bring her home they had one girl pup, who was much bigger than Taylor, who hadn't found a home yet. Yes, I know, sucker is stamped all over my head, but I felt bad for her, so I brought her home, too.
Freckles.jpg

DH named her Freckles because of her freckly looking face.

I'm working with them to be good cattle dogs. They walk with me when I take Chase out, and I'm teaching them to herd...I know they are just little yet, but I figure the sooner I start with them the better. Taylor loves to play ball already, and she's such a sweetheart! Freckles tries to be bossy, but she's learning fast that I'm the Alpha around here.

Here's pictures of the goat kids that I assisted in delivering. Not that I did much, but you know how it goes LOL
These are the twins. The little one staring straight at the camera, bold as brass, is the little buckling I am getting.

Here is a shot of the triplets, minutes after they were born.

And here are my two new Doelings!!!!!! Licorice is the darker one, and Ginger is the more reddish one.

This is the A-Frame coop DH and I built for my pair of Quail Antwerps. This was all out of recycled materials, except the nails. So you are looking at a chicken house that cost me $2.14, which was the cost of the pound of nails. Didn't use all the nails either. Floor was framed with 4x4's and a piece of recycled lumber was nailed to it for a solid floor. Then we put a 2x4 at each end standing up, and the rest is completely out of pallets. I have pics when it was a work in progress, and I'll share those later. For now, here's the finished project.

I think that's about all the new stuff for now. Working on repairing chicken runs and getting them all covered now. :)

Okay, first off, my chocolate lab is named Maggie and she is hopefully :fl having puppies in about a month. Second, those are some of the cutest little faces I have ever seen!!! Taylor definitely has the lab face! Freckles looks more like heeler but is still adorable. I love the goat pics and I am definitely showing DH your $2.14 coop! It is adorable! We just got a bunch of crates and pallets from chad's work to build more coops. Woo hoo!!!

QA - I am coming to live with you. And I promise - I won't be lazy. I will work my butt off but you have to let me help with the animals. LOL

Uh, I need LOTS of help with the animals LOLOL We've got 2 more runs to cover, more coops to build, and it just never seems to end...

Hmm...gotta have a kick out party to make room for you unless you want to sleep in a coop!
