Quail_Antwerp: Words from the Barnyard...

At Lehman's I would not need lots of money... just a drool bucket to carry with me! :lau

The thing about a mutt anything is that it still eats. My mom - who was usually NOT full of wisdom - had a wise thing to say about that. (She probably heard it somewhere else :gig)

"It costs just as much (or more) to feed a poor quality animal as it does to feed a high quality one."

I have no room for those slackers. They go into the soup pot here. :drool

ROTLF and I sell all mutts for at least $3 each to pay for feed for the high quality animals! :gig

With gas prices being, well, unpredictable at best....sigh....we try to make every trip to town count.

What we really enjoy is when we get to save $ on gas!

For example, gas at our local grocery is $2.33 a gallon! :ep BUT Thursday of last week, I only paid $0.91 cents per gallon...HOW????

Well, they have a fuel rewards program, and lemme tell you! It's GREAT!! For every $10 you spend, you earn 1 cent off per gallon of gas. PLUS there are certain things in the store that earn you extra cents off per gallon (up to 15 gallons of gas that is). So on Thursday I had spent $135 on groceries, and MOST of the groceries I purchased earned me at least 4 cents off per gallon, with a few items earning me 19 cents off and 10 cents off per gallon, plus 13 cents off for my $135 total bill....for a grand total of $1.43 OFF per gallon of gas up to 15 gallons!!!!!!!!! After tax, I paid 91 cents per gallon....and 15 gallons of gas cost me $13. Not bad, right?

So far this week I'm up to $1 off a gallon. So if I got gas tomorrow, I'd pay $1.33 per gallon. I'm saving it, though, for when I get a few more cents off. The way it works, if you save your $ off per gallon, you will be able to get up to 15 gallons of gas for $3!! How cool is THAT?!

My goal right now is to get enough on my fuel rewards card to only pay about 50 cents per gallon for my 15 gallons. :D That would be $7.50 in gas!! :D

Pretty cool!!

In other news, I've got a new coop idea that I'm tossing around in my head....need to go tear down some more pallets and see if I can get it started this evening..........

You toss out that you have a new coop idea (apparently a good one) and then you leave us hanging???? :th

Spill it Aly!

I post that I only paid 91 cents for gas, and the only part that interested you was my possible new coop plans?? :gig

That's too funny!

I'll say this...I'm using pieces of pallets.........

Pssh, you guys are such complainers! .. Our gas is up at 94.5 cents a LITER ... our truck has a 98 liter gas tank.
:hide

I wasn't trying to complain! I was just happy about my savings.

Boy I appreciate your savings!

I wish we had a store like that around us. Is it local or a nationwide chain?

Good job saving money girl!

Let me just pop in here to say. . . I stopped over at Aly's house Monday night just to pick up some chicks and keets. Should have taken 15 minutes, but it turned into 1.5 hours. :ep There are no short visits on Aly's porch. :gig

I still had to run over to our other friends' house and drop off her keets. So, it was after 9 when I got home and needed to lock down my poultry. AND I hadn't had supper. :duc
