Time to clean your PM mailbox. :caf :tongue
Done!

BBH, of course I'll tell you if I win! I'm sick with anticipation  She posted the correct list of breeds, and while I do believe I got most of them right, not sure I won.

Great pics! :thumbsup

I know I'm prejudiced about them. But they all are really looking terrific, QA! I hope you are enjoying them as much as we did.
I am! I am glad you like the pics, just sorry I had to put them on BYC instead of on here. Photobucket switched things up on me, so soon as I figure out how to operate photobucket again, I'll work on getting those pics here, too! :D

So, when do you and your DH want to come down to visit with Grant and The First Ladies? ;)
I may be coming soon for a visit....I'll let you know so we can coordinate schedules.

Woke up this morning to SEVEN Royal Palm Turkey poults, with an 8th one pipped!!!!!!!!! :weee I'm so happy! There should be girls out of all those poults!!!!!!

My brooder in the house is over flowing! Ernie won't let me set up a second brooder in the house, so I need to figure out something. I have a brooder box outside, but it really needs to be inside for me to put a heat lamp on it. I might move it to what used to be the bantam coop, but is now housing the ducks and geese, put a heat lamp on it and move some of the chicks that I hatched about a week ago out there.

One of my blue laced red wyandottes went broody. Kind of late in the year for it, but oh well. I gave up trying to break her. She has two BLRW eggs under her. I have six Welsummer eggs coming from AussieSharon to stick under her next week. I'll probably take the two BLRW eggs from her when they arrive and put the BLRW in my incubator. I've had no luck hatching Welsummers in my 'bator. Hoping my broody hen does better for me.

Now I'm relying on the other two BLRW to lay me some eggs. I've an order for 1 dozen, and I need 9 more eggs to be able to ship. :barnie

Woke up to over cast skies, so I hurried out to clean feeders/waters and fill them before the rain hit. Didn't get finished before the rain, so I managed to get drenched as I was finishing up. Tried to make sure all the feeders were in protected areas so the feed wouldn't get wet.

Went to go change the straw in nesting boxes, and realized we forgot to tarp the straw :hit My straws all wet. Hope the sun comes out and dries it out some. Girls all have dirty nesting boxes until the straw dries (which is hopefully only until tomorrow!)

Found a hidden nest this morning with 3 eggs in it. Not sure who's eggs. I'll be candling them to see if they were being set on.

Doesn't seem possible that we're ready to start September. Seems like we just started our summer, and didn't have a very warm one at that! (I'm not complaining! I don't care too much for excruciating hot summers!)

Congrats on your turkeys. I want to raise some more poults. Got my dad a very nice Blue slate tom to go with his two bronze hens. He doesnt care about pedigree or bloodlines he just likes his turkies. I think they are going to make beautiful babies! When his hens finally start laying I hope to hatch some of his eggs in the incubator and build a new chicken tractor for the poults. I know what you mean about not being able to hatch certain things in the bator. For some reason I have a hard time hatching muscovie eggs but regular domestic types no problem. I have two broody choc musc hens and a game hen sitting on some eggs for me now.

So exciting!!! Keep us posted. I'm not a good hatcher so I love reading about others' success.

So I didn't get pics yet, but we do have 8 turkey poults now!! :D I didn't have time to take pics today. I was too busy visiting with keljonma. :)

We had a wonderful day! She got to sing to Sam and The Ladies, fed all the chickens (and the gluttonous ducks) treats, and she was here to help tuck everyone in. She got to experience the ritual of hunting down the ladies who didn't come back to the coop to roost  Every night we have to put at least 3 ladies back in the coop for bed.

We ate lunch together, had some coffee and fresh black berry pie (Ernie said she needs to come more often if it means I'm going to back pie!), and then I took her out to show her the place Ernie and I looked at. It's still for sale, and all grown over now, and the pond is needing some serious cleaning up.

On the way home we took the scenic route and swung by Becky's. Keljonma got to see Becky's set up and we got to see the completed hoop house!

She also got to see all of my new hatchlings. My brooder is packed full. I have to do something TOMORROW about moving some chicks out so they have room to move and grow!

It was a really good visit, we had fun, and now she's on her way home. I made her promise to let me know she got home OK.

Something I forgot to tell you, and keljonma is a witness to this being the absolute truth, Ernie has agreed to a pre-order with McMurray for 2010 chicks!!

We are going to be ordering Black Sumatras, White Faced Black Spanish, and Partridge Rocks!!!

I have all winter to plan out and build their coops!
