Ok, I didn't do what I said I was gonna do. I just feel awful. My head is pounding/throbbing, my nose is stuffy, and I really just want to go to bed.

I did go haul the water - that had to be done. Other than that, I did the normal animal feeding chores and vegged out the rest of the day.

Tomorrow the weather man is saying we're going to have rain, so I hope I'm feeling better because I plan to be spending my time in the house cleaning.

No trip to Auction tomorrow. Not with the rain.

it's super hard to get sleep when you have a sinus pressure headache and a nose that drips like a faucet if you turn the wrong way.

I'm up only because I was tired of trying to feign sleep. I checked the time at midnight, 3 am, 3:15 am, 3:45 am, and then again at 6 am. I gave up and got up and am now drinking honey lemon tea. Oh and it's finally 8 am.

Becca and her mom could use some prayers this morning, as of an hour ago her mom is in surgery. Becca has promised to call and update me later in the day on how her mom is.

Read OFG's journal about her goaties this morning - it was like a bell went off in my head! stop looking at cutie patootie baby goaties, remember your last goat experiences - cows are sooooooooo much easier. And they respect the fences.

It's a wee bit chilly this am - that or I'm just chilly because I suspect my headcold is developing into the flu. great just great.
I've been pushing a lot of fluids into myself, and the commode has become my new best friend.

*sarcasm* yay.

those stupid call ducks have stopped laying. they scream all night long, mate all day long, and nothing nada zilch. I gave them another stern talking to.

I said, "anyone not producing something in the next seven days will either be placed on CL or eaten."

We'll see if that works. It worked for the Sebbies - who laid a few eggs and then quit - and so I gave them the same - uh - motivational speech - and someone produced a nice sebbie egg yesterday.

I told those geese, "well, that's a start, but we need to pick it up. You can do better. I mean, you WILL do better - OR ELSE."

and those freaking stupid Embdens! Penelope doesn't miss a day, and Zeus won't let us IN their pen, and she's setting close to a dozen eggs already!

I told those Sebbies - GET with the program!

Collected 10 chicken eggs yesterday. Only one came out of the Wellie pen - those Welsummers got the same pep talk, except I threatened them with a trip to Auction. Welsummers fetch $9 a head at auction.

The mallards are all making their nests, and one mallard gal already has 10 eggs in her nest.

The 'scovies aren't laying yet. Or if they are, I have no clue where those eggs are.

There is a little bad news - T-Bone was looking a little dehydrated and possibly has a touch of scours. We popped meds down his throat and gave him a bottle of milk plus a bottle of plain water. Then we filled a 5 gallon bucket with water and set it in their pen - BOTH T-Bone and Trevor went nuts drinking water from the bucket! whoot!

I put in a bowl of calf starter - T-Bone licked it, but Trevor at nearly the entire serving of calf starter! We filled their little "trough" with some hay. Trevor ate that, too! whoot! good signs, to see him eating more than just milk! now if we can just get T-Bone to do the same.

QA, I hope you get to feeling better soon, and that its NOT turning into the flu. This time of year we all get so busy, and forget to take care of ourselves...you on the other hand have ALOT more going on. :hugs
My wellies are not laying very well either. Must be something in the breed? They got " the talk" yesterday as well. I showed them all the beautifull eggs I got from the BR, and told them they should be ashamed of themselves. :gig Im hopeing this works.
Becca and her family will definately be in my prayers.
Now, try to get some rest...Oh, and horse radish will help clear those sinuses! ;)

I hope you feel better soon honey, all of us here are suffering with sinus issues as well. My DD is "da-king dik dis"....translation, "talking like this'. :D It's pouring cats and dogs here too and that doesn't help.....makes you just want to curl up under a blanket and do nothing all day, right?

Prayers for Becca's mom....give Becca a hug for me when you see her :hugs Hope everything is okay!

Good news on the calf front - both calves jumped and ran to me for their morning bottles and they both put their noses into the bowl of calf pellets and chowed down. yay!

The call duck pep talk worked, as I got 2 eggs this morning and a third gal was on the nest. :D

I wish I could just curl up in a blanket and rest - but nothing doing. Too much to do today so i just keep pushing the fluids and eating some good for me foods.

I really want some orange juice.

just -horse radish? YUCK!
