Oh, it sure is nice to have that income tax return check in hand isn't it!!
I don't blame your DH on wanting an Xbox! I am so glad we turned on the Directv when I was on bed rest or I would have gone crazy!! Even if I was not watching it at least the kiddos could be entertained by it so I could rest!
LOL! It is funny you should mention Help Me Grow. I just got a letter from them today. HMG used to come out on a regular basis when 6 yo was a baby. My first HMG lady was super nice...the second one...well two visits from her and I was done with HMG!!
Sounds like your chickens had a great day!

Had yet another busy day! I barely had time to sit and find myself today.

Started the day with Social Security calling to do an over the phone interview with hubby for Disability. I had to find ALL his paperwork this morning before the call, and while I was doing that, he re-read the letter they sent and realized they had the wrong phone number. So I hurriedly called in 20 minutes before they were scheduled to call and gave them the correct number. Of course, had to hang up and they called back

Then I had to go to the bank, run to the library, and get DH's pain meds filled because he had not had any meds since last night and he was hurting. Was home by 11:30 am!

Got home, went out to check for eggs (got ONE) and re-fill waterers, put down some treats, etc. Turn around, 1200 pound bale of hay was being delivered! WOOT! So told the guy where we wanted it, he unloaded it, and we forked a bit to the goats. My chickens went NUTS! No sooner was the bale OFF the truck, but the chickens were on it and in it eating all the seed pods they could find! They were soooooooo stinking happy! They've been singing and struttin' all day! LOL

So Help Me Grow came today to talk with me about the baby and check on his development. Our home service coordinator is wonderful, and she always does a craft with the kids, and we get a free children's book!

So she left and we had to go get DH's handicap plaque for the car. He was thrilled (not). Filled all our large water containers to haul home, and stopped at the feedstore. I picked up the ferret food I was needing, flock raiser, and black sunflower seeds to add to the chickerdoodles food mix.

Came home, gave them a bit of layer with the sunflower seeds, and was rewarded with serenading hens. LOL

Oh and I saw my Mille Fleur Roo, Cricket, mating with Ruth and Elizabeth (mille fleur girls) so :fl they start laying soon!
You sure are busy QA!!

Don't ya just love serenading hens? Today dh shoveled about a 3 foot length of 36" high snow - our ladies were oohing and ahhhing over the grass he uncovered. They completely forgot the alfalafa and timothy hay in the barn! They sure were loving being out in today's sun! :D

Well, the inlaws are officially living in Ohio....but I got my wish! They got a house an hour away!

:weee :weee :weee :weee :weee

Which means we will RARELY :fl see them! So it should continue to feel like they live in Florida! WOOT!

I got 3 eggs from my girls yesterday! One was a Mille Fleur! Should be pure, so saving it for the 'bators! BUT since my first two 'bators are completely full, it means I get to plug in 'bator number 3!! WOOT!!

It snowed more today, but just a little bit. :D

Sooo my good friend and I are working on my website for my hobby farm.

Not looking that great yet, and we were halfway done, and decided to re-do most of it. Ya'll can take a peek and tell me what you think, but it won't look like this in the next couple weeks.

My friend is doing most of the work for me. She has a lot of nights when she can't sleep at night, and she enjoys doing something creative. So, I usually check the site everday to see what she has changed, if anything, and to let her know if I approve or not.

We are not happy (neither of us) with the who's hatching page. I think we are going to do away with that page altogether. We are liking the way the Mille Fleurs are put up on the bantam page, and we've decided that maybe we want to dedicate a page to each breed instead of dividing it up into bantams/standards. This way I can include detailed information to my own flocks personalities.

So, feel free to look, but keep in mind, it is still a work in progress! AND not all of my chickens are on there yet. I've been emailing her information and pictures, and since we are now changing the pages, she isn't adding more chickens to the existing pages until she gets them re-worked.

Creating a website can be fun and a headache at the same time. :D I have just a couple suggestions.

Do a spell check before posting the verbage. If you can't do this on the web, write the copy in a document program and run spell check on that.

Put some sort of @ or ID on the pictures, so they don't get used by somebody else on their website.

What you have is a good working start. Keep tweaking and have fun!
