Thank you, Morel. In my mind I know they are just chickens, but for us they also mean a small income source (not getting rich, but you know) so I must say they are pretty spoiled and I take the best care that I can of them. :)

Here's Robert, he was showing off his big "manly" crow, even though he is outsized by all the other roosters!

And here's Elizabeth with Jett, after I caught them in a compromising position.... :gig

Great shot, QA! Isn't it funny how the smaller ones can stretch themselves to sound so large?! :gig
Oh yes! You can sure hear his crow over everyone else's! He refuses to be outdone! And he doesn't know he's tiny! He dances to the big girls like you wouldn't believe and they look at him like, "You have got to be kidding!"

Yes, and I see HRH has that "What Do YOU Want" look on her face... :gig
Always!

I've noticed hers and Louisa's combs are getting redder and redder each day so :fl hoping they both commence to a regular laying schedule soon!

I collected a total of SIX eggs yesterday!! and I had added oats to their diet this week!! So they are not getting a mix of flock raiser, layer, scratch, oats, and sunflower seeds. Not to mention free choice oyster shell and grit (need to get more of both of those!)

I am not sure if the 6 eggs were from the additions to the feed, or the break in the weather, or a mix of both... :/

Love the rooster pic!
Mine picked up on laying this week also so it was probably the break in the weather because I don't remember giving my birds any extra treats this week.

We are having a great day! Only got 2 eggs, but I'll forgive the girls for it...they were too busy enjoying the warm day to worry about popping out eggs!

I'm getting two new turkey hens! One is a royal palm and the other is a narragassett! They were raised together, are 2 years old, and their owner said last year they diligently laid and set on their own clutches of eggs! I am so excited to get them! and for not that much money either! The lady was asking the same price for them both, but I only inquired about the RP..didn't really expect that she would still have her, ya know? Well, she said she'd let me have two for one! So I'm getting a deal!!

Even better, she emailed back and said how about we trade you two turkeys for hatching eggs!!!!

YOU BET I SAID YES!!!
