Blackberry for me please. My mouth is simply watering. I love the name "Mommy and Me Munchies" and what a wonderful memory you are making for your daughter!!
I think a big reason that I grew up loving cooking is because Grandma Nettie used to have me help her make cinnamon rolls as a child.
Well, Farm, I think my DD's pie crust is bettter than mine! It rolls better, and works so much easier than mine do. It comes out a bit more moist and bakes up flaky, too!
She's become a little Pie Crust Pro! LOL
She's also real proud of herself because she mixes up the pumpkin pie filling herself. I showed her how to follow the recipe, which measurements to look for on the spoons and cups, and let her have at it.
Her first pumpkin pies she mixed up were for Rogers when we went up a week ago. From all reports recieved, she did a superb job on them!
It makes it easier on me, too, to have her hands in the kitchen mixing dough or fillings while I'm working on rolling out dough or messing with pies going in or coming out of the oven!
We're going to practice making zucchini bread this week. Will be the first time I've ever made it, so my first experience will be her first experience, too.
Well, pies are all checked in. Hope they do well. I had a small, drooling audience of older men as I was checking in the pies One guy asked if I had huckleberry pie I'm not sure what huckleberry pie is!
So the pies are already causing a little bit of a stir, and I included a note explaining that the berries were all fresh and hand picked off our farm, and that everything from crust to filling was made from scratch. I also emphasized that the berries hadn't been frozen and none of the fillings were pre-canned (except the pumpkin, but it was 100% pumpkin not pumpkin pie filling).
