I've always heard to plant cut side down. I don't usually cut mine, but plant them whole.
Thanks, that's what I figured, but you never know. I should be able to scamper outside at some point today and plant them. My headstrong ways are kicking in so I will try to grow them inside in a big pot!

Back when I lived in Mississippi, it happened often that a little puppy (or a few in some cases) would wander up. We'd always bring them inside, feed them, bathe them, and send them to the pound. I've never had the opportunity to keep a stray that has wandered up, unfortunately. We had 4 dogs at the other house with my mother and after a while, you just can't take anymore.

I just did the same thing I normally do, feed her (muffins in this case  ), bathe her (she was still dirty even after a bath.), and played with her. I think she'll go to a good home, and quick too. She's sweet, tiny, and cute.

I still feel bad though. I shouldn't have named her! It was a doomed idea from the start! :/

Oh well, it will go away eventually.

I hope I hear about the interview soon too! I need a job bad. My hubby has one monday (that I didn't find out about till last night. Shifty forgetful man. >.> ) that will hopefully work out. I am crossing my fingers like crazy.

Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap!

So, up saunters this little butter yellow and caramel orange kitten. Well, I take her inside... and now we have a new cat...

What I don't get is that we couldn't keep the dog, but my DH got all smooshy faced over the kitten (I fear a trend) and we can keep her. I suppose that we weren't dog ready, but we already had the kitty stuff...

I just don't think this is going to end well. She is an unfixed (probably) 4-5 month old kitten that will eventually go into heat. We do not have the money to get her fixed, nor do we have the money to take care of kittens.

Crap... I think we need to take her to the pound, but people *cough* DH *cough* don't listen and get all smooshy faced....

Oh well, we'll get through it. I'll post a picture later. Any name suggestions?

My favorite kitty was orange and his name was Bubba Joe. The best barn cat I've ever had. He had catcher mits as paws and brought me a mouse everyday.

Female? How about Buttercup? :)

That's a nice name. I'll definitely run it by my husband in the morning (he went to sleep early because he has an interview tomorrow!). She's a sweet little cat. I've been calling her sweet pea and things of that nature. I do like Buttercup though.

This is the first time he's had an orange kitty. You should see him. The way his eyes light up when he sees her. It's adorable.

Our two black ones are worthless catchers of anything. I suppose that's our fault because we spoiled them, but oh well. Hopefully she'll be a better catcher than them. I can probably take her outside with me and she won't run off. The other two would run off and never be seen again. :th

I'm happy with her. We almost had a kitty show down in the house when we let everyone meet for the first time. My fat kitty was not a happy camper in the least bit. The other one was tolerant of her at least. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a hundred times worse than what it was. I thought the fur was going to fly and I was going to have to vacuum up either a lot of black or orange fur.

Thankfully it didn't come to that. :)

Cats are way less work then a dog.
I would keep a cat before a lost pup too. Sometimes the work that pets require give them an edge up..LOL

congrats on your new cat.

don't worry....you will find a way to get her spayed. call the local shelter and see if they have that free or discount spay clinic. Most do if you find it and you can save tons of money on it.

yea, kittens, you sure don't want that..LOL

Cats find their own names. Each cat is so individual that a name will just find it..LOL

I had 2 big orange cats. Randy and Fat Cat. I like the orange colors!

She's a good little cat. The dog needed a heck of a lot more work than her. She's calm, she can use the litter box, and she is so sweet. She wouldn't hurt a fly. The puppy however was another story entirely. She needed training that I really couldn't give her right now. Plus she tore up things and I can't really replace anything right now.

So we can keep cats right now, but not dogs. We'll get a dog eventually, but really can't do anything with one at the moment.

I'll definitely look into that spay clinic. I would eventually like my cats to have babies, but not with her and not right now. She's still a baby too.

I think it will take a week or so to give her a name. That's what happened with our other two. They were kitty one and kitty two for a while until we got their personalities down.

She's such a cute cat. She's so girly too. It's precious!

My memory card doesn't want to read. I'll post a picture whenever it decides to get its act together.

Well, I had my job interview today. I think it went well. The boss cracked some jokes and so did I. I actually felt comfortable.

I should hear something in a few days. I'll be cleaning houses from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Sheesh, oh well. I won't complain. It's work and that's all that matters.
