You're telling me. Loki has finally calmed down a little. He still hisses at her, but he doesn't try to beat her up or avoid the situation. We had all of them sleeping on the bed last night with no problem. Poor thing still doesn't have a name though!

My sister used to have a Maine Coon cat that would run clear across the room at full speed to dive into an opened bread sack! What is it with cats and plastic bags? Don't they bother to read the "this is not a toy" warnings?
I believe it. Cats are just goofy creatures. Whenever we go to the store we would have a small pile of them in the middle of the floor and they would just dive in and roll around. That or one would be in the bag and the other would attack/jump on the bag.

I have always had dogs until this point. I love cats for their personality!

Just found your journal and was loving it right up to

"Sociology is not my thing" Eeeeek!

You just haven't had a good enough teacher!! Sociology is fabulous for anyone who is naturally curious about how things work. It touches every facet of human behavior and society.

Sociology is my passion - ask me anything!

I'm not sure which post you are referencing (I looked, but didn't see it). Maybe it's not that sociology is not my thing, it's that I do not agree with most sociologist and their opinions.

I wish I could figure out what I was thinking about at the time and explain a little better. I'm thinking I was reading some of the mind and the brain

http://www.amazon.com/Mind-Brain-Ne...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260682214&sr=8-1

That's the book, if you are interested.

Sociology just explains things in a way that doesn't make sense sometimes. Also, some sociologist are also feminist, and I don't agree with that.

I think I figured out what I was thinking about whenever I wrote that. There is a paper about a book called A Natural History of Rape: The Biological Basis of Sexual Coercion which was written by a male-feminist sociologist who said rape was just about misogyny (which isn't feasible) and was saying all these nasty unprofessional things about the author.

It's not really sociology in itself, but rather some of the people who dabble in it. I think psychology would be a better thing to study as you can find out the motivations of people and then apply it to large scale populations to see why people do the things they do.

It's just an opinion though. I would love to hear anything you would like to share with me about it. I love to learn. :)

Well, the potatoes didn't happen. They might have if I hadn't left them in the water so long that they rotted...
I don't want to talk about it. I'm very upset with myself over that, but I'll try again. I'm not discouraged! (just embarrassed)

An update on the cats. Loki still doesn't like the little girl, but they are playing together. We still don't have a name for her, but we are still looking. "Stinkens" may be an option at the moment because she smells something fierce. We'll give her a bath soon and see if she's going to be another easy one or another hard one. Goodness I hope she's an easy one.

Also, we've been battling fleas. Baby shampoo does not work. Holding them in the water does not work. Lemon juice does not work. We haven't tried dawn yet, but I've been pulling them off and killing them as I find them.

Any suggestions?
