I am so depressed! I found two milk mixed breed milk goats finally and called the woman. They were exactly what I had been looking for milking and all. I told her that I wanted them, but she wanted to wean a little billy first before they left. She was supposed to e-mail me some pics, but they never came. I waited two days then called with no answer. I then e-mailed yesterday thinking that she was busy and had forgotten. Nope. Apparently she sold them to someone else while I was waiting on the pics! :hit We are going to the auction today to try to find one that is hopefully NOT sick or going to get sick from the germs and will be a good milker. Not much of a chance in that. I feel stupid because I feel like crying over not getting a dang goat!

It's not bad to feel like or actually cry over something like that. Sounds like goats are super hard to come by in your area. Any chance you could travel out of your area and put one in a crate in the back of your car to get one?

I had something similar happen to me, when I went looking for goats.
Fortunately for me, the place I was getting my goats from was a dairy, so I still ended up with two wonderfull little bottle babies.
I can understand your disappointment. :hugs

:hugs I understand too! Good milk goats are hard to come by in my area. If you find someone that has them then they are not selling them! I finally got my two goats and now I am having a hard time finding a buck to breed them with.
I hope you can find some soon!

You will find them! Try not to worry. I totally understand how you're feeling though. Once you have the goats that were meant to be yours, it will all feel right. :hugs

Okay, so we went to the auction today and there were only a couple of decent does(by decent I mean big and not brush goats). I liked them, but would not bid on them since they were not what I was looking for and they were going higher than I was willing to pay for a mixed dry doe. Dh was getting impatient since I wouldn't bid on anything and finally an old looking Angora/brush mix came through with a set of twins at the end and as I looked up dh was bidding. I frantically tried to stop him as the price kept going higher and higher. They auctioneer would look at dh and I would shake my head no frantically at the auctioneer and tell dh to PLEASE stop as he kept on bidding, both totally ignoring me. Anyway we came home with an old looking angora/pygmy/brush? mix doe and her doeling and buckling babies for $80 for the trio. After checking her she is not old-just matted to the skin and dirty. Sooo in the morning she is getting a bath and a good clipping along with her curly haired gray sheep look-alike babies. In truth she does seem to have a good personality and some of the cutest babies I have seen in a long time. I think there is an udder somewhere under the matts :hu the babies seem to think there is!

I would probably clip her first and then give her a bath. If you bathe her first, you could further felt her fiber and it might be worse trying to clip her. You will probably have to use scissors to get that fiber off of her, poor thing. Glad you got her. Sounds like she needs a good home.
