I thought that was pretty sorry of boss to do. Anyway I will be glad when he hears from one of the companies he has applied to. If he would do something like that to two employees over a personal issue then it seems to me that he is not someone to be trusted. Anyway I am probably stressing over nothing. Dh said boss offered him his own truck last night, so hopefully that means that everything is okay.

Well something happened. Boss called dh in early to work last night and told him he wanted to talk to him. Dh and I both thought that this was it. BUT much to dh's suprises boss wanted to talk about the schedule. Told dh that he was hiring some more people and redid the schedule so dh now was 2 DAYS OFF one week and 1 day the other week guaranteed every week. He told dh that he knew they needed some time. Dh has 84 hours in so far this week and still has tonight to go.
In other news I have to go get some pigeons. Friend has to get rid of his and offered them all to me! There is around 30 or 40 of them. All different kinds- racing, white homers, fancy. I haven't told him that I want them for sure or not yet. I am still a little hesitant since I don't know anything about pigeons, but I think I will give it a try. He has some absolutely beautiful ones in the bunch.

I went outside yesterday and noticed Goosey sitting on her nest! I went to check her and found THREE goose eggs!!!!! Whooo-hooo!! Goosey and her husband are the sebastapools that I bought for $30 for the pair in LA last summer. I am so egg-cited!! Now for the turkeys....
Anyway, today kids and I planted 3 types of raspberries-gold, red, and black, some blueberries and some blackberries. We also started spreading compost and manure in the greenhouse beds and planted some carrots. I also found some blooms on my strawberries!

Yesterday the kids and I watched a documentary on the Amish as part of their schoolwork. We watch history and other nonfiction documentaries after they are through with everything else whenever we can. Anyway ds and I fell in love. All I could think was that I was so jealous! I would love to work in gardens and make my own soap and live simply and everything for a living for real. Especially when you are surrounded by people who are also doing the same thing and are not alone in it. :drool Oh well that will probably never happen, but it did give me some ideas for our lives.
I did find a mobile home to go on our 10 acres. It is a MAJOR fixer upper, but it was free. The roof and floors are good shape, but the kitchen and bathrooms have been ripped out where it had been started remodeled and never finished. It needs new doors and some paneling. I am excited about the new project. I LOOOVE remodeling. I will have the whole summer to replace paneling, insulate better, paint, install the kitchen stuff and bathroom stuff and put down new floor covering. I know when I do it that it will be done exactly like I want it. The only thing that is worrying me is that dh is not at all acting excited about the possibility moving back there in the boondocks and made a quick remark that at least having something on the property will bring up the resale value.

BTW I have 6 sebastapool eggs in the incubator! My strawberries are already blooming and I have about half my garden planted. This year I plan on really gardening hard!

They also had goats for sell a little below that post under meat and milk or something like that. I am worried though that there really isn't enough room. I will have to make them a stall with a yard like the goats have. Anyway dh said I could get a trio. Once we get moved they will have all the space they need. I am sooo excited! Jacobs are my favorite. I will need to learn to shear...... What to do with the wool once it is sheared....... Sheesh I am going to need help!

Wow! Sounds like a lot is coming together for you right now. Will you raise the geese and then sell them as adults or expand your flock? Whatever happened to the pigeons? Glad DH's schedule is getting better. A schedule like what he had can really grind a person down after awhile.

Right now I plan on keeping any geese that hatch. I would LOVE to have a group of fluffy sebastapools wandering around the yard. I am still waiting about the pigeons. I am really not sure if I want to get into them or not. If I do then I need to build them a new coop or avairy of whatever it is you keep pigeons in. The person still has them, but made a remark to me the other day about eating pigeon if he can't get rid of them. I just don't know what to do with that many and I am afraid of the price of feed and what it is going to do to to justify a non-working animal. He also raises game birds. He is NPIP ceritfied and wants us to go partners with him in them. He wants me to be a hatcher for him. I am not really sure about this either.

Okay, I'm jealous now. That's okay- Enjoy the Jacobs, and when I can get land someday, I might buy babies from you. More people need to be keeping the old breeds going anyway. Geese are cool too but those Sebastapols are a trip. They look like they've been joy-riding with the convertible top down. :D

I had planned on getting my sheep today, but dang it they had to work and couldn't meet me until tomorrow! Don't people know how important getting sheep is?! Working instead, my gosh, what is the world coming to? LOL Anyway I talked to the lady for a while and am supposed to meet with her tomorrow. She sounds like a very honest person and has the same ideas we do on animals that pay for their own keep. I am so excited. $240 for a trio!!!!!! Whoo-hoo!!!!
