I'm just getting caught up on some of the news now. Just remember to fill your day with some positive too. It is easy to get sucked into all day news.

So hurray for Donald & his new home! Hurray for broody ducks!

I discovered tonight I can listen to music from my husband's laptop! The volume is real loud and there are headphones. I'm sitting here listening to some old songs I haven't heard in a long time.
It is so nice.....

Wonderful! Whatcha listening to? Is the sun shining by you today? It is gloriously wonderful here! I'm grabbing a bite between errands and then I'm out. It is too wonderful to nap even!

I listened for about two hours straight last night. It doesn't work on my computer, but still....it was lovely hearing all my old favorites.

POURING rain. I want to start my garden but this is too rainy. Too wet to dig, too rainy to plant seeds. At least it is warmer and the snow is gone. The goats stare at me stonily from their barn, giving me dirty looks. I truly believe Ginger thinks I control the weather. And that I should be bringing her pellets and sweet feed on a platter 24/7. I think she needs a little work on who serves WHOM around here.

We are getting a new foster, a puppy. It is chasing the kitty at its other foster home. A puppy should be fun. Not too worried about a pup cat-chasing, I'll just hide my kitties and keep him crated when I'm busy.

And it turns out we will not get Chisulo, the hit-by-car ridgeback we were prepared to recuperate. It turns out, the person who struck him with her car (accidentely of course) who has been visiting him daily has decided she wants to adopt him. And the veterinary clinic wants to keep him there until she is ready to transition him to her home.
So our services will not be needed after all.

We had no shortage of ridgeback fosters here so I'm happy all the way around. This sounds wonderful for Chisulo.

Imagine telling the story of how you got your dog....well, first, I ran over him with my car.......

Poor lady! She was actually his savior because she apparently scooped him up and took him to the vet immediately, and a dog on the road was probably bound to be hit by someone at some point. But he found himself a home without any assistance at all by our organization!

Several years back we had a cat of ours get out and get hit on the street in front of our house. It was at dusk. A family was walking on the sidewalk at the time and saw her get hit!

The man was very kind and gently scooped up our kitty and brought her to the door. We had been gone, but just drove in the driveway as he was knocking. He was crying and made motions to my hubby and telling us to keep the kids in the car. Hubby went to see what the problem was and the now sobbing man told him how he saw the cat run off our porch and into the street and get hit. He kept crying and saying how he felt so bad, because there was nothing he could do. :(

About that time they heard a "Meow". They both turned around and there was the cat groggily sitting up!! She had just been clipped by the car and knocked out! Later at the vet's he found no long term damage at all.

So now the guy was a hero! :D If he had not cared enough to take the time and scoop our "dead" cat out of the dark roadway she would have surely be hit by another car and been dead for sure. Things happen in very unusual ways sometimes. ;)

I love the name Chisulo! Sounds like he's going to have a great life. When do you get the puppy foster?

Chisulo has some meaning I forget in an African language....warrior I think.....and these dogs are descended from a feral dog in South Africa and they were used to hunt lions originally, so it sounds fierce, the original owners picked a neat name. Kind of long though.

Your cat WAS very lucky!

We might get this pup today. The folks who were fostering him are nervous about him being there. We offered to take him today if they bring him here, I don't have gas money to go running two hours away to pick him up. So if they are that worried about their cat, they can drive here. I have cats too. I just keep 'em apart. A puppy ridgeback won't take long to get adopted. Jake was here only about two weeks. My cats have been around a lot of puppies, I'm not too worried. My cat Smudge will "learn em". Hee hee. He feels dogs are way beneath him in dignity and status and makes no bones about letting them know.

Hello,I just wanted to say, savingdogs, that you have a very inspireing and exciting life.I am still new to this forum.I started at BYC and found myself here.I'm known as lil'turkeymama there.
I was looking for something to read last night.I've read all the books I've got at least twice, some more.I found this and started reading.I have read all 113 pages in two days.I really, really need a new book.LOL.I pre-order the new earth childern book and I can't wait.;)

I sure understand how nice it is to have folks somewhere to talk to.I posted at BYC about a fatal accident right at my house. They helped me realize how much it really upset me and I went and found someone to talk it over with and am healing nicely.

Wow,there so much I want to say. Thanks for helping our dogs.I have taken in and cared for quite a few myself.Never worked with a rescue.Just kept some and when someone and somedog got along, well just sent them on.I always was soft for the old dogs. And I know what that means.A song comes to mind..."Don't go breaking my heart".Sorry I don't sing well. You know what I mean.

I'm gonna try and keep up and see pics of your baby rabbits.I've got a neighbor trying to give me some.I've had some. They're great but hard work plus lots of feed.I'll just see yours and not bring 6 home.

Really hoping you are feeling well today. We had sunshine. It was great.More rain and cooler again in 3 days.We got out and finished the back of the garage.28 feet of pure fun.
