What were you saying the logo should look like?

I'm picturing a cartoon dog with a smile and in the background against the skyline, a goat, and our other assorted barnyard animals. The goat would have his jaw out to the side like our wether Donald always has when he stops to gawk at anything, with his eyebrows raised at the dog.

Since soap is one of the products I wanted to make to sell, perhaps I should work on a Dizzy Dog bath bar for dogs. Or maybe a liquid shampoo, I can't imagine liking a bar of dog soap.

I also haven't mentioned my own personal dogs name is D D. It is actually short for Deirdre, but she is a dizzy dog!

Be careful not to try to make your logo into a brochure. It doesn't have to say everything. Think before using current critters....an expression that is cute and meaningful to you may look strange to non-animal people. I say this because I bring pictures to the office and to school often (by request of clients and students) and I'm always puzzled (slow learner here :p ) that others don't see in the pictures and expressions what I see.

JMO, a simple logo is best. I'm thinking a happy dog face or entire dog...like a lab smiling straight at you, something everyone feels safe with....with a simple background or in a simple shape. Then use the other animal pictures in brochures, to decorate the website, in advertising, on labels, etc.

Can't remember what you are doing with this for, if it is just for you or if you are planning on marketing something....

Ooops, just re-read your post about soap! I told you I was a slow learner!

Oh, and I would buy soap for myself from Dizzy Dog Farms. It doesn't say "everything we do is for dogs" to me. It says "we love dogs" and so do I! Anyone who loves animals is ok by me. I LOVE it when I go into a business and the owners dog is lounging behind the counter.

I'd hire WZ for the logo, personally. Her stuff is adorable without being sickly-sweet. Colorful, too, without overwhelming the eye.

So maybe I should leave the animals in the background out?

I was thinking of a cartoon dog, that way someone could draw me a dog. I have a very artistic son and also a good friend who is a professional artist so I think I will have no problem with that end of things. I was picturing a Dudley DoRight type dog.

Soap, eggs, dog sitting and sporatic livestock sales is what our farm will be marketing. Anything we can!
I have been thinking about raising worms in the rabbit poop to sell to the fishermen who go past our place to get to the resort. I think I would certainly leave worms off the sign though!

I agree, if dogs are your main focus then keep it simple with the logo.

When you add new things to your "menu" then you get to send out emails or post on the website "Coming soon to Dizzy Dog Farms.....worm poop!" :D
