You & me are just alike SD. I'm not in it for showing or getting the big $$ with kids - I'm just in it to provide families like ours good pet quality animals at prices we can afford.

BB - I'm sorry you feel that way about BYH. Not everyone there is like that.

You'd freeze the colostrum for future use. Comes in real handy if you loose a doe or have a kid that just won't nurse off mom.

When we had calves last summer I sure wish I had colostrum on hand. We ended up having to go to another farm at 1 am because the cow wouldn't let the calf nurse. Talk about owing her big time!

SD - don't worry about how much milk you get. Once/If you separate the kids you'll have the opportunity to have all the milk to yourself, not matter how much or how little she gives you!

I tend to discuss rabbits lately on BYH mostly.

So we got our ridgeback fosters today. :love They are so sweet! I'm already thinking I don't want to part them. They are like two peas in a pod. My foster coordinator I think agrees. I'll call her AB. Also, we already have interest in them as a pair so I think we could place them together easily enough. So my main job will just be recovering them from their surgeries.

Apparently they are a hardship case, owner had to move and had never been able to afford Ellie's dermoid surgery. There is a possibility they will get the dogs back if they work out their housing and pay RR rescue back for the costs incurred. AB arranged for all their care to be done at 1/2 price by a ridgeback enthusiast vet who was interested in learning how to do that kind of surgery. It was her first one. But I saw photos and it looks great.....and it was a success. Yay Ellie. Vets gotta learn somewhere. It is nice the breed has fans. This could have cost more than 5,000. Donations saved this dogs life.

The other one's name is Hanna, but you say it Hah-nah like the island in Hawaii. AB loaded us down with enough supplies for them for a month or two and we will only have them initially two weeks. Hanna comes with her own anti-anxiety medication so she may be fun.

I had vertigo again today but luckily it was nicely timed while I was visiting my daughter and granddaughter and I just rested on her bed while the baby rolled around all over me. She is one year old now and just a living doll. We really enjoy the granddaughter.

Okay I realize this is not an animal photo, but I have the prettiest granddaughter in the world and have to show her off.

My daughter just got these back from the photographer....her first glam shots......

My daughter looked very much like this baby too, when she was her age.

She's so precious! Looks like she's about the same age as my daughter. Addison will be 2 in July. This is a cute age but already knows it ALL!
