NAH--no way am I coming to visit 2dream.

Your house rules on the spiders is way to lenient for me. I think you need to talk with them truly. LOL---you need a handbook to handle that group of spiders! :)

Yea I am glad you have ton of lightening bugs still....at least I know someone is enjoying them!

FC - Those spiders really do mostly keep within the rules. I don't know why. Maybe its because they have seen me slip off a shoe and whack a friend, while reciting the rules.

About once a week I walk around and check any webs that are not properly maintained and use the broom to knock them down. I don't really have a bunch in the house but they are in my closets and welcome there becaue they catch any stray moths that might wonder in. My computer room kind of gets over run some time but because I sit with the door open quite often in spring, summer and fall, mosquitos tend to wonder in. The spiders feast and we are all happy. Well all of us but the mosquitos. LOL

I just always check my shoes before I put them on. Been bitten a time or two but nothing major.

Since reading this thread I have decided that my house spiders need a name. So I am open to suggestions. They will all have the same name. Any ideas out there?

Arachne was the woman that was turned into a spider. Might fit.

I have an arrangement to deal with mosquites too.
The first one that lands on me gets injured-not killed. When she is flying away all crooked and stunned where the others can see. I say " Tell your friends the next one dies."

I don't get many bites. Maybe they do understand.

I was telling DH about this thread last night. And that some of you named your house spiders. And they were all called by the same name. He laughed and said I should name mine Birdie. I ask him why and he said well you once had a bird named Spider.
So I guess that works. All house spiders are now Birdie.

FC you will be happy to know that some of my pets were thined out in the computer room after DH sat down in a chair and one crawled up his arm. He flicked it off and said, you really need to thin these out. I told him it was just a baby and he rolled his eyes. And just so you know - any spider that looks to be a danger is dispensed with post haste. All my computer room spiders are little tiny things. They build the most exquisite and intricate fine threaded webs.

DH I am sure wasn't moved when you said "baby"--that means Mama is around...HA HA

Gal, you need therapy...:gig

well maybe those spiders are your therapy...:ya

you have me cracking up!

Nicole and I went to her swing set and yup, the spiders were all in it.....I took a broom and boom, gone..LOL....but yes the webs can be so wild and cool looking. But there is nothing worse than a web across one's face. I went to the get mail and walked under my Crape Myrtle and hit a monster web....smack in the face. Yea, sad, the arms flailing, scraping off my hair and face, wondering if the spider was on my head..LOL-LOL

oh the tragedy of it all...LOL

:gig--Dh told you to thin out the herd. that is funny...
