The heat will do it but it is dropping too low. Later in the lactation it is hard to impossible to get production up if it is low for too long, and I want to milk Mya through, I must get her production up....now.
Ah, gotcha. :fl

Geez, don't tell me. Would you say Plum it Cute or Sooo Cuuute! ;)
My little kids get smooched on all the time too. And boy can they yell, when they want me!!!! We have been distributing peaches to the neigbors, telling them: "Thanks for putting up with the goats' screaming!" They appreciate the peaches and tell us they don't mind the noise, they actually like it!!! Sure, :p

We finally got a little goat house built in the field. Now I need to transition them to stay there in the night  I know that won't be any fun. I think I'll be spending a few nights out there myself. It's been so darn cold at night though, I really don't want to dig out my winter coat in order to get the goats to sleep in their new house.

Glad to hear your dog isn't going to cost quite as much as you were anticipating. It is always nice to get a reprieve like that, isn't it.

It was the little toe. On the left foot. Still owe him my arm and my leg. But I'll take what I can get! :p

Glad she is doing better. :)

How old is your buckling? AND how tall is he and your other babies? I think they are the same age as my lamb-ram. He is no taller than my knee cap. I think he is going to be small, which I think is a good thing. I don't need a huge horny ram running about. :p

Well, Plummy is much better now, still takes more frequent naps. She will go right to the sunny patch behind the barn and lay down for a quick nap, even if it means being alone. :/ But she is out with the herd full time again, and today I saw her experimenting with bonking each of the adult goats....even Willow (who put up with it for about 1.5 seconds before chasing her off...a record of patience for Willow!) and Mya, who stood patiently while Plum bonked her between the eyes and ran her little horns along Mya's nose, one on each side. I do believe that Mya was mildly amused. She didn't move or flinch or retaliate, she just stood there with a patient expression.

Then she challenged Ginger, who just put her head down and bulldozed Plummy across the paddock in slow motion. Peach joined in, and the two doelings took on Ginger together. Ginger won. It was so good to see Plum behaving in such a playful way.

So back to weaning! She got 6 oz today, both morning and evening. Tomorrow it will be 4 oz, then...we will see what my resolve is! ;) Maybe Donki too? :hu

I made Ginger's udder into a taped fortress today, and Peach was unsuccessful in getting it off, finally. Or so I thought. She managed to somehow drain one side of the udder without shifting the tape. So Monday I will begin separating them. They will have to take turns in the stall and being out. There will be some hollering.

Dorian is starting to rut. Rutting Bambi....it is just SO wrong! :p He lured my neighbor (home daycare lady) over to the fence with his cuteness, and then pee'd on her foot. She didn't know how her sneaker got wet, then the next day, he lured her over again and hunched his body and took aim....and soaked her! HAHAHAHAHAHA! It was very hard to look horrified and apologetic when she told me the story......
 I hope you're able to post pictures of him soon. I'm dying to see him!!! And so is Daisy.

Daisy and Donki? Dorian says he's up to the challenge! If Plum continues to grow well and comes into heat in January (and if Dorian is still in rut) that will be FIVE girlfriends for the lucky little guy!
