No reason why a purebred goat can't be hearty. I bought one of my boys from someone who does strictly herbs and has for years. She has some of the healthiest goats around. It took a while for her but now she has very few problems with her goats. She also did no culling. She just worked with her goats until she figured it out.

That's good to know.

I agree, no reason why purebred animals can't be healthy and hardy. Some goat's bodies are just so programmed and altered by prolonged and overuse of medicines I guess.

Glad the girls are doing well Monique!
Yesterday Blossom and Blanche's buckling went to their new home! I hate when animals go but it had to be done. Down to 5 milkers!

Aside from Heathcliff's run with Cocci after he came home as a buckling last year and the rupture/hernia thing with this one buckling this year, I haven't had any issues with mine. :p (knock on wood!)

Just FYI, Free- the stickiest band aids I have found are NexCare brand, the sports variety. They stay on through showers, swimming, and anything my human kids can test them with. But I don't know if they are big enough for your purpose. :p Also, they are the only brand that doesn't irritate my skin - it's something in the glue of the other brands that makes me break out.

For what it's worth, Donki's production has been down some this week. I thought it might be the heat but what do I know?

The heat will do it but it is dropping too low. Later in the lactation it is hard to impossible to get production up if it is low for too long, and I want to milk Mya through, I must get her production up....now.
