yes, Bambi! Finally someplace on this thread I can really contribute!
There are zillions of versions available. I must admit, my budget for my kindle is ......zero. So I was looking at the free versions only. I do have an old beat up catholic hardbound as well that I can use if I need a hard bound. But in any event, I spent several hours reading through those descriptions.
I must admit I am interested in literal translations of the Bible and love to compare them to the KJV. I did not find a free KJV.
However, the two that I found I like and it is interesting to compare.
My favorite s called Holy Bible, Gods Word Translation GW, Baker Publishing. Barred Buff told me this one could be called a chronological Bible because it does not put things in order.
The other one I have is the Holman Christian Standard Bible, B and H publishing. It is not chronological. I don't find the language of things pretty in this one. For instance, instead of Mary being 'great with child" she is "pregnant".
I learned how to move around on my kindle and use it better because of the Bible. You have to use the five-way controller more in order to skip around. It is more difficult to, for instance, jump to a different section and then jump back. But I've only had my kindle six months and I'm not techy.
I would like to purchase a nice KJV for my kindle but wanted a little imput about how to get around inside them. It does make a difference which one you choose, some can be hard to navigate. The two I have are pretty good though about navigation.
I hope that helps you Bambi.
